DROID 2.1 Update thread.

Can anyone please confirm whether the update is being pushed out? It has been 3 days since release and no I know seems to be getting it.

Can anyone please confirm whether the update is being pushed out? It has been 3 days since release and no I know seems to be getting it.

Last night was the first time they really pushed it out to a relatively large group of people. 200,000 to be exact. Before that they only pushed out 1000, followed by 9000 12 hours later.

Hold tight, your turn will come. With over 2-million Droids sold, it may take up to 10 days or more for you to get the OTA.

By the way, you are not alnoe. I'm waiting for the OTA as well.

Help

I downloaded the update and renamed teh file, but I don't know how "to move it to the root". I have Astro File Manager. I can see the file, but I can't figure out how to move it (or EXACTLY where to move it). Please help..

I am having the same issues. Kind of wish I would have just waited for the OTA update. Let me know if you find a solution.

I am a noob too and I confused myself trying to move the file to the "root". I kept putting it in the SDCard folder. Do not put the update in any folder. Make it seperate from everything else. If you are using the USB to your CPU just drop it in the F: Drive. In Astro Manager its the same concept. I hope that helps. I know I was confusing myself for a while with this but once I took off my dunce cap it took 5 min max.

Noobie here---I was able to install 2.1 but I do not see a preinstalled Earth icon. When I search Market, its not there either. Any suggestions?? Thank you.

Will a factory reset take the phone back to 2.0? Also my keyboards seem to be lagging too.

2.1 kill bluetooth music streaming?

Prior to 2.1, I had zero problems with my bluetooth picking up Pandora and streaming the music through my car's stereo.

Since I installed 2.1, it appears to not work at all anymore. The voice still works through bluetooth, but my Pandora no longer picks up on my stereo through the bluetooth.

Anyone else experience this? Is there a fix to get it working again?

Waiting for the OTA wouldn't change how your phone reacted to the update. It's exactly the same thing. Reboot the phone and see if that helps. Otherwise just give it a little time to settle and see if these things get cleared up on their own.

Exactly, After you select "move" just hit the "up" folder at the top. Hit the menu button and edit again. Then Paste. From there turn off your phone. Then press "x" on the physical keyboard and the power button at the same time until an exclimation comes up. From there hold down the camera button and volume up button at the same time. There should be an option to apply update from there. Use the directional pad to select it. The rest takes care of itself.

Hey, I'm having some of those issues (never knew hotmail didn't stink on this phone)...I've had this phone for about a week, so it came installed with 2.0.1 - wonder if update will do no good?

Another issue I am having is no Google Earth in the market. Was looking forward to it. Is Google Earth a N1 only app., or is this an issue I am having?
