I am sure new updates will hit in the life of the droid.

Especially since Google said that ("SOON") they will be handling all updates to prevent splintering.

I'm still having a bluetooth issue that seems to have broken with 2.1

My car has integrated bluetooth in it. Prior to 2.1, I was able to use bluetooth for BOTH voice calls and media (I would turn on pandora and my bluetooth would pick it up and stream it through my car audio).

Ever since 2.1 hit, this no longer works at all. I still get voice calls through bluetooth and that works fine, but none of my media will play through the speakers anymore. This also includes navigation. I used to get the turn by turn directions streaming through my car audio, that no longer works either.

Any idea what happened here, and how I can fix it?

Yeah, I have similar issues with my Bluetooth headphones. Some bluetooth features work and media/audio don't. I got around it by unpairing and re-pairing. But it still happens sometimes.

I dont know what changed, but my phone is working soooo much better. I have live wall papers and five home screens. And its still much faster. I also have more RAM. Almost no lag. This was a huge update. I really was ready to chuck this thing out the window. Now I like it again. And the camera is so much more useable somehow. Snappier and easier to go through the photos in the new gallery. Just thought I would add to the praise for 2.1....

I notice there would be a lag every once in awhile... The gallery is nice and the live wall papers a wicked awesome. But this lag is killing me...

That did the trick by the way. I once again have pandora streaming through my car's audio system.

2.1 update issue?

my slide out keyboard on my Droid was working great... then my phone did the 2.1 update. now several of the keys do multiple hits or not at all... no... I did not drop it or get it wet, just started acting up. anyone else have this problem?

How do you have 5 screens? Are you running helix?

Have you tried doing a battery pull and see what results you get? Hope you are not dealing with a third party rogue app. My droid has been very stable and dependable since day one, I know that wont help you !.

Went back about 20 pages but didn't notice any questions about this. Anyone seeing delays in delivery on their gmail? It used to be almost instant lately i'm noticing 20 minute windows where mail has been delivered to my gmail account on my PC but still hasn't shown up on my phone.

Was just fine before I unrooted/rolled back to 2.0.1 and then did the manual update to 2.1 (Was a fresh wipe before updating.) Been on 2.1 for about a week now and have noticed it over the past few days.

all of my contacts and phone log disapeared yesterday. I am using a third party app to access my corporate account. all the contacts are still in that app but gone from the phone and they wont restorse. I tried rebooting and taking the battery out. still nothing. any ideas?

All good points.

Good points about using it when driving. You still need to look at your phone quite a bit for the send button and to read the responses.

I tried it again last night on WIFI instead of 3G, and it is noticably faster.

Settings>Accounts & sync>Your gmail account>uncheck sync gmail then recheck it> Menu> sync now.

Try this
Settings>Accounts & sync>Your gmail account>uncheck Sync Contacts, then recheck>Menu>Sync Now
If that does not fix it
Contact>Menu>Import/Export>Import from sd Card

So after having the update for over a week now, the only real issue I've been having is turning the bluetooth and wifi on and off when using a profiles app (Setting Profiles) but I'm sure that is an easy fix, so Im just waiting patiently for an app update on the market..

It doesn't come stock, download HelixLauncher1 from the market, then when you have it as your home replacement, hit the menu softkey, then configure, top option is selecting how many screens you want

Thanks, but don't want to use another launcher...we were supposed to get 5 screens as announced in January for 2.1. Just wondered if someone found 'em when I hadn't! Guess we'll just keep waiting. Who knew that I'd fill up all three!?

Hey all, not sure where we are in conversation but I wanted to say that my droid was not the same after the update. I noticed it was sluggish while scrolling, and generally not as snappy. I couldnt take it anymore and used rsd lite to go back to an out of box state, re-rooted. I just couldn't stand it any longer. Although it was not "buggy" to speak of, It just didnt run right. With live walpapers off, and no widgets running, it was a little better. but whats the sense if these things were supposed to be some of the perks of 2.1 right? Smoked glass 6 is a 2.1 rom and its 10x better than the official. Not griping, just saying
