DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

I may have used safe strap before but in order to get ics on my phone I had to do a full fxz. And after that all I used is titanium backup free version supersu and voodoo. So I don't understand why I would get error status 7. Build.prob bull****.

Because it doesn't match the checksum of the one it's expecting. Quickest way to fix this nonsense is to FXZ, re-root, protect root, and do the update again. Otherwise you'll spend lots of time getting nowhere. You only need to flash system.img from the FXZ if you know how. Then re-root it, protect root and bob's your uncle.

Has anyone received this update OTA yet? I know a couple of unrooted users that are itching to get their fingertips on this.

What does unrooted have to do with it? If they want it so badly, they can just grab the link I posted yesterday and install it.

Did fxz 246 option save data, re-root with razrs edge protected root su, all that jazz. Went to instal error 7 again something about web top. ?? :(

Actually, I must admit I was under that misinterpretation as well. I thought your link was just for those who have rooted and/or have followed your HoB lead/support. Didn't realize a stock, never-been-rooted Bionic could use it same as (instead of waiting for) vzw/OTA.

Wanted to thank everyone that posted help and SamuriHL for the link. Upgrade went flawlessly. My first time not waiting for the OTA

What's everyone's thoughts of jelly bean itself?

Fortunately I was able to interpret these feelings correctly: loss of essence.

Bah, I forgot about some of the obnoxious stock ROM quirks. The fact that the battery icon doesn't show the percentage and the stock ROM only allows battery increments of 10% (so you go from something like 60 to 50 in the blink of an eye). Also, the only way to wake the screen is with the power button? Like it would kill them to allow the volume rocker button to wake it up.

Can't wait for some "real" JB ROMs to pop up...because JB feels solid and smooth and I can't wait to see what happens when the devs start implementing the JB kernel.

Another success story!! Thanks to everyone for their helpful posts (especially SamuriHL, you're the MAN!!!). Just for a reference I will list what I did to keep root and install the OTA:
-Was already rooted
-Updated SuperUser and SU binaries
-Installed Voodoo OTA Root Keeper and protected root
-Downloaded the OTA from the link that Sam posted
-Checked the MD5 sum and it was correct
-Copied the ZIP to my Ext SD card
-Started in recovery and installed the update
-After phone booted back up, I used Voodoo to root
-Status was not rooted, so I rebooted my phone and then checked again and it was then rooted
-Checked SuperUser and it was also showing rooted
-Enjoying JB

I would hate that. If I'm listening to music I want to able to raise and lower the volume without the screen going on.
On every ROM I've ever used, the volume rocker buttons control volume if there's a media player being used (including steaming services like Pandora); if not, it wakes up the screen.

Try Battery Widget Reborn...multiple notification icons plus it can use Motorola 1% hack for more precise battery %. Plus with Jellybean now it's got different power controls with the expanded notifications.

Thanks for the heads up! I don't have any room for another widget, though :P

I think the JB ROM's already been deodexed, so we should see some good stuff within the next month or so.

Finally!
Repaired web top with fxz and that did the trick. Thanks IRawd and samurihl. Running 4.1.2 on my bionic with root. *drools*
