Anybody else have an issue with high battery drain from wifi? By Bionic is reporting 18% of battery usage is from Wifi. I can accept that if my Wifi is on, but it stays that high even if I shut it off. The odd thing is that if I check the details for the Wifi under the battery usage, The Wi-Fi running time continues even though I shut off Wifi. I'm trying to figure out if it's reporting wrong, or if my wifi doesn't really shutting off.

If you get root back, learn safestrap. It's come a *LONG* way. You can even backup your stock partition and restore it into a safestrap slot now. Then you can screw with it all you want. Break something? No problem....you've still got your non-screwed with stock partition to go back to in worst case scenario.

I was going to try safestrap but then we were doing all the ics updates and it didn't work with HoB so I never gave it another thought. It's good to know it works with JB if we get root back I will try it.
 
V. happily running CM10.1 nightlies on my rooted bionic w Safestrap and the original OTA ICS on a different ROM Slot on the device. This thread is very complex for below avg guy like me. CM10.1 is still a little quirky yet as a daily driver (4/15 build). Worried about bricking if I upgrade my OTA ICS to the JB OTA. Eventually will it be possible to have the VZW JB OTA version rooted on one of the ROM slots w safestrap so I can still use one of the other ROM slots for other ROMs I want to try out like I'm doing now?
I realize that most of you are miles ahead of my understanding of this beast so I appreciate your patience.
 
How come there is a migration away from flash?

Fortunately I was able to interpret these feelings correctly: loss of essence.

WiFi currently on and reporting 6%.
 
Ok, my Flash has been reinstalled, but I still can't play Amazon Instant Video. Did the test on the Adobe Flash website, and it's running correctly.

same here. My wifi and screen seem to be reporting higher usage than they were. Wifi is 19%

Flash has also become a security risk it seems from a source I've listened to and he recommends moving away from it even on regular computers.

I'm on wifi here at the office all day due to poor 3g/4g signal. I'm currently at 13% wifi battery usage. I've not had any significant issues with battery. I'm usually down to 50% by bedtime after moderate usage during the day.

Works in my stock browser on Disney and NASA TV flash streamer.

flash worked on stock browser for me but not Dolphin they even tell you they disabled it if you look in the settings.
 
I gots another question. I have read many posts about Webtop being v3. Looking in TiBu I see mine says v1. Is this something I can upgrade?
 
FM radio tuner app no longer works on jb. Anyone else? Browser app keeps force closing when inputting text. Anyone else?
