My upgrade date is May 8 but honestly I couldn't care less. I have no intention of ever buying a subsidized phone again. I'm keeping my unlimited. If VZW decides to alter our arrangement, I then have the option of telling VZW what they can go do with themselves without having to pay for the privilege.

Just got off the phone with "V", we were discussing the upgrade options for my son's phone. I told the guy that I did not want him to lose his unlimited data. Here is what he said, "His data will drop to 2gb's when he upgrades. If you send me an email within two weeks asking for unlimited, I will reinstate it."

Wait wait wait. You were on JB when you messed up? Hold everything. You need to stop and do this else you are going to make it worse....

o) Update to HoB 10.1
o) REMOVE the 246_FXZ from the HoB
o) Create a 98.72.22_FXZ directory and put the 98.72.22 FXZ zip file into it
o) Run the HoB
o) Use the FXZ Keep Data option

You WILL need to re-root with the Linux root exploit.

Hey, Sam.

I'm running Jelly Bean rooted. I know there is nothing to fear in losing root on a simple "Factory Reset", unless you tell me differently of course.

Anyways, since the odds are extremely low that we'll get another update on the OS, is there any reason why we shouldn't uninstall or delete the bloatware apps that came with it?

The unlocked RAZR HD gives me MUCH longer to debate what phone to get next. Those on Bionic, I beg you to hold off as long as you can. Use safestrap and play with some roms. 4.2.2 is kicking and someone is working on an overclockable kexec kernel with new governors. Now is not the right time to buy a new phone.

My rooted Bionic running JB similarly gives me choices. The screen size on the Note 2 is appealing, for example; since there's a bootloader unlock for it I might pick up a refurbished model for cheap, much as I did with the first Bionic. But sticking with the Bionic is clearly a viable option for another year or two, as long as I don't break it.

Yup. I'd have stuck with the bionic til the end of the year had I not been given this phone.

Also, I'm sure there are plenty of posts somewhere on how to install and use it, but could anyone point me to the best one for a Bionic on Jelly Bean?

I still haven't pulled the trigger on doing the 22 update, though I'm super greatful to you for the HOB and Dan working with you on the exploit. I'm on kexec/cm10.1, and Kexec doesn't care what's in the stock slot. Kinda thinking just leave ICS where it is and ignore it, since I know if for some reason I absolutely have to I can update thanks to Sam's HOB. Anyone have a really compelling reason why I should bother with the stock JB at this moment?

Don't know if you are a Costo member but my local store was able to upgrade a phone (family plan, 1 @ unlimited, 2 @ 4gb limits) and keep its unlimited data, only success story that I am aware of w/regard to keeping unlimited. Unless it is in writing, don't believe it, VZW wants to kill unlimited, no question about it!

Yep. I've noticed it lately. Although I don't think it was happening initialling with JB. Seems likes it just been this week.

I had something maybe similar a few days ago, Play Store just ran a circle for several minutes and crashed, when reopened it was on the new "white" version of Play Store (prefer the old one by the way).

I dropped Verizon the day I could and went with Virgin Mobile for $35 month with a prepaid Evo for $150. Similar to the Bionic (but new), for half the monthly price. Depends on your coverage obviously but for me the phone works where I need it to. I seriously don't understand the need for anything more than a 4.3 inch dual core in a phone. If you want a Phablet go ahead and buy a flagship but you will pay an extra $1000 or more over time to VZ to do so.

Keeping the Bionic for wifi lapdock and netflix HDMI.
