DROID BIONIC Jelly Bean Update

The high-pitched whine is gone. That's good. However, using certain equalizer effects, there is still background hiss during non-silent parts of music. This can be minimized by turning off 3D surround in the effects menu. Sounds pretty good with no surround and *bass punch*.

This. So much this. Can anyone else confirm? This is the only thing I was looking for. I still haven't gotten off of gb for his reason. The reason I ask is because I've heard otherwise on the soak forums. Thanks in advance.

Are all of you that have the update done so by manual updates with flashing etc?

I've tried all the ways to prompt me for it and nothing yet.

Personally, I'm anxious to see Google Now in action! Obviously, I've had it since day one on my Nexus 7, but I can't really take full advantage of it because it doesn't have a constant data connection like my Bionic does. I'm also thrilled to be able to search items via the JB-enhanced voice search. :)

Yes. I downloaded it via that link Sam published this morning. Moved it to my SD card, rebooted into Recovery, and did the "Install Update from SD card" option. Took about 15-20 minutes total.

I don't have the whine, but I never got it in the first place. It actually sounds really good streaming FLAC files from the Synology.

Yes, installed Voodoo OTA, made backup root. Downloaded from Sam's link, moved to SD card. Ran from recovery. After started, checked Voodoo. restarted to restore root to apps.

During the push phase, specific MEIDs are targeted. If you're not on the list to get it pushed to you on that particular day, you won't be getting it via OTA.

Which part of the US are you located?

Ugh. Not relevant at all.

Just put the file on the SD card and boot to recovery mode? How is this done? Does this use H.O.B.? Thanks.

Try going into the account settings and manually syncing the individual Google services.

Nothing at all to do with the HoB. Put it on your sdcard-ext. Then shut off the phone, hold volume up and down and press power. Volume down to recovery, volume up to select. When the android icon comes up, press volume up and down. Then you can install it from there.

OK. Thanks. I will do tonight.

I am getting a Status 7 on webtop/app/swype.apk
Do I need to FXZ or is there an easier way?

Second this.....I have fxz'd back to stock with full data wipe and still get this error message. I had swype beta installed but removed it previously.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

FWIW, I had a painless upgrade. I FXZ'd Friday after I heard about the update. Rooted with Razors Edge, updated SuperUser via Play Store, then updated the SU binary. Left everything stock.

This morning, I protected root with Voodoo (didn't temp unroot), downloaded the update zip to sd-ext and applied it via stock recovery. After the update, I restored root with Voodoo.

I haven't had any issues at all, everything is fast and smooth. Webtop works great with the lapdock. WiFi tethering works great via the "root WiFi tether" app from the Play Store.

I especially love Google Now. The widget is great.

This phone has never worked better! Just awesome.

I am getting the same thing. It says:
assert failed: apply_patch_check ("/system/app/GoogleTTS.apk"
E:Error in /tmp/sideload/package.zip
(Status 7)

Haven't tried to FXZ back to stock 246, can't until I get home. Any thoughts?

I just used HOB to repair Webtop, Updated SU binaries, download Voodoo, protected root and temp unrooted, flashed, and it all worked this time.
