Droid Charge vs. Droid Bionic

yes!!

in settings under mobile network, There is a system section where you can choose LTE auto or CDMA only mode.

very simple to turn off 4G on this phone.

What he said.

Is there any app available to change wifi/3g/4g settings based on GPS location or time of day?

Do you know if that's a TouchWiz feature though? I know those who bought the Thunderbolt didn't have that functionality at first. I believe that they had to download an app that would do it for them (or do some other workaround).

This i do not know;
As soon as there are a few different rom available i can let you know, right now i have no clue how to check up on that.

I have spent a lot of time playing with the Droid Charge. I am growing less and less fond of the SAMOLED + Screen. It's colors seem almost cartoonish to me, higher resolution would make it a lot clearer too, just not as great as what everyone says it is. IMO of course.

Here's to anyone who can compete with AT&T and the #$%&* iPhone!!!
"Proprietary" is a 4-letter word. If Droid Does, then Droid Should!!!!

Sorry For bringing back an old thread but honestly I'm at a loss too. I don't want to switch carriers because the lte speed is just so enticing and I want it and if the Bionic were out right now i'd buy it. but i've had my phone for over 2 1/2 years now and i need a new one, i just don't know if i can wait until the bionic comes out. my honest question is will we all really use that extra core? the charge already gets two days of battery life and we have no idea if the bionic will be that good. and to be honest the likelihood is that even with two cores we're going to be moving just as fast and never notice any difference. I think its just the sheer fact that the specs are so amazing I don't want to buy anything else that makes me wait.

Only you can judge. Personally, I go ahead and throw out my (admittedly pulled out of my ***) opinion and say that dual core will really only show itself in the speed of rendering heavy webpages, and the most recent/demanding games.

If the current browsing speed in the charge looks good enough for you, and you don?t really see yourself playing a ton of games, go for it.

I agree With you.. When I take a picture of some thing the picture and color should match what I took a picture of. Not give it more color then the actual object.

The color fidelity of the camera likely has nothing to do with the color fidelity of the display. The object photographed may look perfectly fine on a calibrated display.

One hopes that you're not relying on any phone's camera for studio-quality work, though :)

Keep in mind that you can use voodoo color to correct the color temperatures and intensities if you want, and can change the lcd density if you want slightly higher resolution, and not such huge icons. In fact, you can mimic the color temperature and resolution of the Moto's this way if you want. Sure, its not something you can do out of the box, and requires a custom kernel, but its still pretty straightforward and you have the option. Whereas if you have a pentile screen, you're pretty much stuck if you're not happy with it.

preach its just the way it appears on the samoled +. Pic displays differently on whatever screen your looking at it through. Washed out screen washed out pic vibrant screen vibrant pic so on and so forth.

I want the SGII so bad, but my only choice is the Charge to lock into unlimited. I'm gonna be so pissed when the GSII releases a month after.

Yeah that's rough. Upside is that the developer community is getting behind the Charge. Worse case scenario is that you eBay or craigslist your charge and flip a couple hundred (or whatever) for the Galaxy SII.

Galaxy SII is the most bad arse android device :)
