Ok, but my point is that you have to manage the battery life that you have, so not plugging in while you are doing one of the most battery intensive things that your phone will do is a wasted opportunity to manage the best battery life. It's hard to plug in the phone while you are walking around, or at random times during the day. It's quite easy to plug in while you are driving your car - so do it. You will definitely arrive at work and have a battery charged more than 36% at noon.

BTW, I'm not sure how long that you have had your Turbo, but it is now older than two years since launch. Batteries do lose capacity with each charge cycle - slowly at first, then they tend to lose it more rapidly. If you have owned the Turbo since close to launch, you may have reached that point.

Still, if I were in your circumstance, and thought that the discharge was faster than it should be right after a major version upgrade, I'd do a factory data reset. I'd probably just rebuild from scratch, but you could try restoring from Google to see if that makes things better, and, if not, then try a factory reset and just start over from scratch to see if battery life is better. I know a lot of people hate doing that, but I always want to feel that I could do this on the off-chance my phone completely failed, was lost or stolen, and I had to start with a new phone from scratch. It sounds drastic, but at this point, you'll never find what is causing excessive battery drain - Android's tools just aren't rich enough to help you pinpoint a problem - so you'll save a lot of time and hassle by starting over.

I've almost always done an FDR at some point shortly after a major Android version upgrade.

My Turbo on LP is to the point where I must charge it 2 or 3 times each day. Had it for almost 2-years. In retrospect, I would have only used the turbo charger when absolutely necessary.

After update, even lower volume levels on everything (though volume before was already horrible). Can hardly hear Pandora, through phone and Bluetooth speakers, even at wide open. Wife iPhone paired, and volume is twice as loud as mine, and hers is not even turned up all the way. Cant hear phone calls, cant hear sound on video, facebook, youtube, media, anything. Ive tried all the tricks in the forums, as well as all the captain obvious methods, to no avail. Anybody got any real advice on how to increase volume? The phone is ok per update with this exception.

Your correct. The only advice I can offer is to find notifications both phone and SMS that have a high pitch in sound and good quality. That's what I've done as a work around to this issue. I use zedge for most of my tones.

You are probably right about doing a FDR, which is unfortunate for me. I bought my Turbo nearly 2 years ago used from someone who bought it when it first came out. I know he was a heavy user and I probably would be classified as an above-average user as well. The battery may simple be on its way out and the MM update hastened the death march. My goal now is keep the Turbo going smoothly until the Samsung S8 is announced. Then I'll go to Swappa and buy a discounted S7 in "good" condition.

Both my phone and my father's received the update today. So far so good. Not noticing that much different - just little things - and so far I like most of them. The ability to clear ALL the currently running apps is my favorite so far. My father is NOT a fan of upgrades - he is 76 and likes how his phone has been working. So far, no major complaints from him (fingers-crossed that continues!) He likes to have the same phone I have so I can troubleshoot for him and walk him through new stuff. Battery life on both phones seems OK so far (It's only been 8 hours for my phone and about 6 for his, so a little too soon to tell much of anything.)

I just got my update around 5pm today. Download and update went smoothly and no problems so far. I haven't noticed any new features for 6.0.1 so I'm not sure what to expect. I am running Nova Launcher however, so maybe that covers up any new features?

The ability to clear ALL the currently running apps is my favorite so far.

Huh? I didn't know that. How do you do that?

Mine did the same thing. I called Verizon and they emailed me a Motorola repair program to reset the phone. I installed it on a pc then connected the phone via usb and ran the repair. It took about a half an hour but it was fine after that.

Reply to TvTechGuru: On the screen where the loooooong list of all your open apps/windows is shown, scroll down to the very bottom and there is now the word "clear". Tap and ALL the open apps close. I used to have to click on each "X" on each window. I usually kept up with it on mine and did it every few days, but my father NEVER does it and every so often I would get hold of his phone and spend ages clicking on 50 or more little corner X's!

Anyone else having issues updates? I have tried multiple times including clearing cache and factory reset but nothing is working. It always just says.
"Software update unsuccessful sorry there was a problem updating your DROID TURBO. No changes were made"

I'm having the exact same issue right now. Tried 3 times and the same problem. I didn't try clearing cache or doing a factory reset. Did you ever find a solution?

This looks like a mostly nice upgrade, that seems to be working well for most people -- we had some little issues with Lollipop, that now seem to be fixed.
My only real complaint so far is the calendar. Why do they randomly change things that worked just fine?
(1) The homescreen icon is less legible now (blue) and no longer shows the month, only the day.
(2) The 3day/week displays now have HUGE distracting day numbers.
(3) The barely distinguishable colors are ridiculous. Seriously, Amethyst? Avocado?

Well, I've had almost zero issues with this phone for 2 years. No broken screens, no major software or hardware issues (except the camera kind of sucks.) The only issue has been declining battery life - which is normal.

I haven't been on these forums for ages, so I had no idea an update was coming. I let it do it like a week ago and it's been v.good so far. Only issue is with Kaspersky and that stupid overlay issue - have had to shut it down for now. Had to set a few things up again with no issue (HD/wifi calling, signing in again here and there.) I could have sworn the Control Center allowed access to the calendar, but I can't recall, can't do it now though.

Anyway, the best part is I now get significantly improved battery life. Right after the update it wasn't good, but I shut down (forced) a few apps and rebooted the phone an hour after the update and since then have been shocked to see predicted times of up to 2 days again. I realize that part of this is just an update to the built-in battery life algorithm, but I've backed up the predicted times by allowing the phone to sit off the charger overnight, something I could rarely get away with previously. I am eligible for an upgrade, but the build quality of many of the new phones I see doesn't impress me compared to the red carbon fiber look that I still find appealing.

Does anyone know where to turn off that annoying message about "Mobile Data Not Available" when on a phone call? There's no way to ack the message in the pop-up so that you aren't reminded again in the future. Thanks in advance.

I don't remember that popping up but do you not have HD voice / data turned on? That could be one solution. Calling Verizon to have it turned on on your account for free then settings>Advanced Calling>Turn on HD Voice and Video Calling
