Droid X Gingerbread update

no idea, pulled the battery and trying for a third time. lemme know if you guys have luck and i'll do the same.

:::watching dexter while patiently waiting:::

Worked for me.... Hopefully those of u having issues it will come through soon. If you are trying over 3g, then try with your phone connected to your WiFi.... Maybe that will help.

The update is downloading now. Fortunately I'm distracted with putting a shopping cart site together. I will report back when the update is finished.

Got the official GB update...looks okay so far but I've noticed that I have to reassign the one touch speed dialing set for the numbers 1 thru 9....and we've lost the ability to swiftly move from one of the 7 screens with the bottom scroll.

I'll post more as I see problems.

Press home button twice or swipe up from the docked shortcut items at bottom of screen to bring a screen showing all home screens at once.

Ok guys. I remember alot of talk about how we would be able to take Screen Shots on GB with out rooting. Can we or do we need to wait for the app to be made? I have tryed a few on the market and they still say "need root acess"

How do I flash to go back to Froyo to get the Gingerbread update? I have a previously leakedversion right now...

This update has Nerf'd my phone, upon the first boot from install my screen wouldn't let me select either my launcher pro or setup option, after about 5 minutes my phone randomly just restarted. Since, all it does is go to my main screen after boot, can't swipe to a diff screen, use any apps, menu key's/back/home/search don't work at all. if I try to use anything on the phone it FC's the launcher pro and restarts the phone, it has rebooted about 15 times since the update, now I just have a black screen. PS, I have never rooted or anything, stock Droid X

*Update... VZW is sending me a new Droid X, couldn't even get the keys on my phone to work during boot to do a hard reset. No phone till tomorrow! :(

To get back to Froyo:

- settings/apps/development/turn on USB debug
- download SBF file
- install Moto drivers for DX / Win7 64
- install RSD Lite (4.8 or 4.9)
- hold cam/vol down/power buttons to power to bootloader
- plug in to PC
- Run RSD Lite in admin mode
- select device and SBF file
NOTE: Sometime installation hangs at 100% and reports to manual reboot, at this point you have to pull battery, unplug cable and enter back into Bootloader mode by pressing Volume Down + Camera + Power and then plug cable back in. RSDLite should read Complete Successful after connecting and then you can power down,
- Power up into recovery by pressing Home and Power
- Select Search (Right Button)
- Select Wipe Data / Factory Restore
- After complete select Restart

Just fyi - I accidentally deleted Need For Speed Shift a few months ago. I was concerned about getting this update, but installed the OTA this morning and everything is working great. (NFS reinstalled with the GB update.) Was coming from stock froyo.

Got my update at about 12:17 this morning. Looks sweet. Still checking it out. Didn't Phil post some kind of walkthrough vid somewhere?
