Droid X has officially launched!

battery pulls...... isn't it sad that us Blackberry users have resolved to thinking that pulling the battery is a "normal" thing to do on a smart phone? I am looking forward to not ever having to open the battery door any on another smartphone!

this has always infuriated me. i cant believe that a company produces a device like this and actually tells you to perform a "battery pull." i mean that would be fine as a last resort but it's ridiculous how frequently i, and every other BB user, have had to do this. i think quick pull was my most used app on my storm.

on a brighter note...i cant wait for tomorrow morning. i've never been this excited about a phone release...i feel like a fanboi. went to my local verizon store yesterday to make sure that i qualify for the early upgrade and see if they were opening early. no early opening and no working models on display yet. they did have a dummy device so i checked that out to get a feel for the size...shouldnt be a problem. the rep really hyped up the device and said that he's been showing the dummy phone to everyone that comes in looking at the droid1 or dinc and recommending that they wait until the 15th. hopefully they dont all show up at 7am.

I can't wait too get my life back to normal. All this anticipation has taken it's toll on me haha...

yes...my wife is ready to kill me. i've been sitting in front of my computer browsing these forums and researching this device (android in general since this will be my first) for days. i dont know if i'm gonna be able to sleep tonight.

Lol, I can picture that. Tell her this is only the beginning, because once you have the X, you'll be back here learning lots of new stuff and hanging with your new buddies

Omg, I was just thinking the same thing this morning. I don't know what I'll do with all my time once I actually have this phone lol.

Ill be ordering online at 11 my time tonight.

I've called verizon the last 2 days and switched around my online account to become the account owner so I can order online and skip the mail in rebate.

And I sold my incredible for 375

i think I read that the online ordering won't start until midnight PST.....or 2AM for you in Central time.

Yea, my wife has pretty much had it with me as well. I am not counting on much sleep tonight either.

Yeah, last night my girlfriend actually gave me the option to stay on the computer and keep looking at these forums or ... "come to bed" *hint hint wink wink*. I actually had to weigh out the options in my head for a bit until I realized "WHAT AM I THINKING?!" Haha, close call.

What is the thing with wives and girlfriends? My wife thought my brilliant idea to pay a visit to BB and Verizon yesterday, to take a look at a Droid X and/or accessories before the CSR's were swamped was ridiculous - whereas I though it was inspired.

She also doesn't get why I need to stay on top of the latest forum entries and reviews, while monitoring progress in the Gulf oil disaster 18 hours a day. This stuff is important, isn't it? Isn't it?

lol my gf hears about the X everyday. I don't think there's been a day I haven't talked about it with her since I preordered it.

Tomorrow is going to be a glorious day :)

My wife and I are hitting the store at 8 am. We both plan to get an X. My 15 year-old son is jacked because he's getting my Incredible.

Hey everyone. First post here... I've been anxiously waiting for the Droid X just like all of you are, frequenting this forums probably at least 5 times a day. Sick.. I know :) Anyways, I saw how all of you were saying how your wives or girlfriends are getting tired of it... and it's actually the same for me! My boyfriend thinks I am crazy because I am so excited about getting this phone. I think he finds it annoying too, since I like to find out everything I can about a phone before I get it. Anyways, thanks everyone for all your help with everything, this will happen to be my first smartphone, coming from a Voyager, so I am really excited! :)

You will definitely enjoy the versatility of a smartphone, especially one that has Android.

I'm also anxious for the Droid X! I find myself reading the forums many times in a day, as if it will force the release date to come faster. At 9 am I'll be standing in front of my local Verizon store with my hand out :D

Heheh, my girlfriend thinks this is cute, but probably since I'm actively trying to contain myself. :-)

If I went full bore, talking about it every time I wanted too, she wouldn't find my technolust too adorable...
