Anyone know if the Droid X has push capabilities for email?

hey all, so this will be my first droid as well coming from BB. I can hardly wait, and i've been compiling a list over at App Brain for the apps I'm going to load on my DX.

if you havent already, this is a really cool site to make a list of the apps you want to add to your device.

what i like about this phone is that you can totally customize it to how you want it. yea, i like sense, but you dont need it since there are so many cool launchers and weather widgets on the market place. check out beautiful widgets here: Beautiful Widgets | LevelUp Studio

IMAP, Exchange, and Gmail all push. There's also a Yahoo app that pushes as well.

I was under the assumption that the Yahoo push was native on the Droid X and not via an app..... I haven't seen any mention of the Yahoo App when they say that the Droid X has yahoo push.

The Droid X user guide says that you need to turn off WiFi to get yahoo mail pushed to the device. Do you know of this new yahoo app allows you to leave WiFi on?

Of course its possible that VZ will run out of the X on launch day but I doubt it. If you live in a large city Im sure theyll be able to send you to another store to pick up an X if needed & dont forget Best Buy as well. It wont be the Incredible fiasco that enough units werent made.

my local VZW store is preparing for a big turnout. In comparison, there were no big lines or anything like that on the DInc launch date at that store.

That could be. I can't remember all the accounts they listed in account list. Their statement in the User Guide (about it not working on WiFi) makes me think they are basically doing this, but making things a little easier to configure via Motorola's interface.

One thing to note about the official Yahoo app, in the Market, is that I could not open any attachments with it :/

Wow.....I really liked the Sense UI though. The weather widget just "pops" right out at you....

Just a heads up, when you get your X, you can download an app called beautiful widgets. It's just as pretty as the weather widget on Sense (except none of the animations on the homescreen) and is more customizable too. It's what I use and I love it. I'll love it even more when it's on MY NEW DX!!!
