Droid X update this morning to 4.5.605.en.us

Finally got mine to update yesterday. Did an .sbf back to stock .602 without wiping. That removed my root, returned everything to stock, but still kept all my apps and settings. Then I just downloaded and installed update. After that I used the Motorola root script and was back in business.

Could you please post a link for the directions to do this. Ive been looking but cant seem to find them. Thanks

think this update screwed up my sd card- got the update this morning and just now got message that my sd card is blank or has unsupported filesystem. rebooted phone, then removed card-no help. anyone else having this issue? any suggestions. thanks.

I am in the same boat you are ... I applied the update, the update went smoothly ... things were working fine yesterday, no problem with the SD card, now this morning I am greeted with the sd card is blank or has unsupported filesystem message. Can't seem to mount it or reformat it from the Droid ... tried SBF'ing back to stock to see if it helped, still seems broke ... tried to format it from the recovery menu, won't format ... will try to format it later on a PC and see if it comes back from the dead ... Just wanted you to know you are not alone ...

That's the easiest way to SBF in my opinion. I've used that method for the OG, D2, and DX. Always perfect results.

Thanks alot...one question though. You have 3 different iso to download.Im assuming I download the one I want to sbf to? This does look easy to do.

Anyone else having problems with adding contacts? I can no longer add contacts to my list via the phone. I can do it through my gmail address book on my pc, but when I try to add a contact by using the add button or through the "add to contacts" option in the call log it just closes the app. No force close notification. Just returns me to the app drawer. Tried a factory reset to no avail.... This is not good.

Edit on edit....: figured it out!

Don't freeze the "yahoo mail" client or authenticator. It will scew with your contacts app....

Yeah, exactly. Download the version you want to SBF to, burn the ISO to disc, reboot from disc, place phone in bootloader mode and connect, then just press 1, then enter/return on the keyboard. Easy as pie. Works every time.

Having the exact same problem here after the update. DroidX

Heard anything on how to fix? Anyone contacted Google or Android support?

Well I had to give up on it ... Tried to read it or format on a PC and it wouldn't even reconize it anymore ... Actually locked up my PC ... Had to buy a new Micro SD card yesterday afternoon and the new one works without issue ... I don't want to blame the latest update ... but it is too much of coincidence not to ... but hey it is only another $50.00 dollars out the door ... wish I knew what happened to it too.

The only problem I am having with this update is that now everything is a baby blue color and I don't know how to change it! I like the new interface and how things look EXCEPT for the baby blue color! Anyone know how to change this WITHOUT rooting?

I have never rooted my Droid X and am not interested in doing so. I have no problems with my SD card. Everything is running smoothly (where right before the update it was extremely sloooowww) and everything is working.

This worked like a charm. The only problem I had was burning the disk. I had to download imgburn to get it burned right. Is there an ISO for the droid x2? That is what my son and grandson have and just in case they ever need to sbf I would have it for them. Thanks again

So this "update" has slowed my X to a crwal. Apps take forever to load. Multiple force closes and freezes forcing me to do a bettery pull 2-3 times a day like I have my old Blackberry back! HELP!

I was still on froyo, can't do the update so I have to sbf to 602, do update then run the one click root.

I thought I lost root too but all I needed to do was clear the data/cache from the superuser app, that work for some app but not all. For the apps that still ask for root access, i uninstall them then reinstall.

Two quirky thing I noticed.

1. Can't run wireless tether anymore without it redirecting me to the verizon webpage wanting me to sign up

2. Can't go into recovery menu anymore via the power/home then search button . I got to the prompt but then it froze there, have to pull battery.

To go into recovery mode you have to power on with the home button then hit volume up/down at the same time. The up/down to select the function then lock button to select it. up/down together will always bring you back to main menu.

Another thing I noticed is that with the WugFresh tether installed. I can tether my phone now but even after i turned the tether off, the 3g network will allow me to surf the net on my phone but i can't make call or text until reboot.

If it ain't broke don't fix it. SwiftKey FTW.

Update: btw I like my free tether too.

Called Verizon today and reported the problem. This is not isolated; it has been posted on other sites. It trashes the SD card (can't be re-formatted on the DroidX or the PC). They are sending a replacement 16GB SD card free of charge. It won't get the data back, but...

If yours was damaged, give them a call.

Just seeing this now. I got the update one morning, by afternoon... my SD card was shot. I didn't connect two and two together. I had some very important videos of my daughter riding her horse in two different state championships (10 videos all together)... and they were all gone. SO disappointed.
