Dropped the phone with Whitestone applied.

Instead of paying $50 for a damn screen protector, call your home owner's insurance and add electronic goods coverage to your policy. My policy charges me $17 per year for $5k of coverage. $50 deductible. They replaced my Pixel after I dropped it.
some insurers won't allow that. like mine.

I wonder if renters insurance also covers it. And it's covers drops? That's a great deal. I'm currently paying for 20k worth of coverage for my home, I need to look into it.
you'll be out whatever your renter's insurance deductible is, IF they cover it.

I took my BodyGuardz screen protector off. Dang thing got a ton of debris on edges. I will be going without a screen protector though I will be using a UAG plasma case. My phone never goes in my pocket and I have a microfiber cloth to clean smudges. I hate that the screen protectors only adhere to the edges and not on the actual screen.

Just because the screen protector cracks and the screen stays intact doesn't mean the protector was responsible for the save. While there is always a chance that it helps save your screen, I would not count on it.

I beg to differ. If there was no screen protector, wouldn't it have been the screen to crack? At least, I think that's the point of glass protectors. I could be wrong. Wouldn't be the 1st time. 😊

Not necessarily, because the protectors are thin and break easily. I'm not saying there aren't case where I screen protector doesn't help prevent screen breakage. I'm saying just because the protector broke doesn't mean the screen would have broke without it. I'm also not suggesting that anyone should go without one. I had mine off for a week and got careless. It must have rubbed up against something and got scratched. Put one back on for awhile but now I'm running without one. It's been dropped protected and unprotected with no breakage. I worry more about scratch protection quite honestly. Most of the time a good case is more reliable because it lessens direct corner impacts.

Can this screen protector be removed once cured? Does it leave any residual adhesive behind?

I have not seen any screen de sensitivity with my zagg on. Spen works flawlessly.

I would not put any glue that requires uv light to bind the screen protector to the screen.

The big question is... Do they raise your insurance after claims? When getting our latest homeowners insurance, they told me that the best way to get cancelled is to make small claims on your policy, especially in a short period of time. You are then labeled as high risk. That follows you to any company that may insure you. Small claims meaning like $5000 and under.
So, my question is, does it fall under something like glass coverage for your auto insurance (where it doesn't affect your premium) or just another claim? Until I know that for sure, no way would I claim a phone under homeowners.

Home electronics coverage if offered by your renters / home owners insurance has a separate deductible. $50 in case of liberty mutual.

Does it raise your policy if you make claims? Valid question. Liberty in my case is a decent company and insures two homes, 3 cars and a trailer for me. I can't say for certain till renewal next year but knowing them I'd say no, reasonable claims won't hike the premium. Of course if I make 4 claims in a year it would be a different issue.

Paying $120 a year for coverage and another $175 deductible for phone insurance is silly.

The Whitestone adheres to the whole screen......

I love those who are skeptical. I hope if you go protectionless that you'll post when you drop your phone and your screen cracks. Even in an Otterbox case my screen on my Note 4 cracked. Protect your screen.

Don't drop it face down on pavement in that uag case. I had one opn my s8 plus w no tempered glass and one drop on pavement was all it took and crascked the glass.

I never use any of the stupid protectors that adhere to the sides like zagg and bodyguardz. Whitestone Dome will be the only screen protector I use for this phone and any curved screen. All the other ones you have to sacrifice the screen quality and the touchscreen. I wouldn't eber waste money on those. The Whitestone is worth it

I have an i-blason tempered glass screen protector. I can't even tell it's on and my touch screen works fine. I wrote several notes yesterday and have been playing with live messages.

Good tip, I'll look into this. Thank you.

The BodyGuardz ES line is coming soon to Note 8. It removes the dot matrix and adheres better on the curve so it will not pop off.

Pure Arc ES for Samsung Galaxy uses a proprietary adhesive technology for full-screen coverage. The glass is extra secure and will not pop off with every day use. Full-screen adhesive also preserves precise touch sensitivity, plus the micro-dot matrix has been removed. Pure Arc ES is the industry's first curved, tempered glass to use adhesive on the entire screen. We are proud to offer the most advanced protection for curved screen devices.

Screen protectors don't take the punishment the screen suffers on impact. They save screens from scratches and the like. Nothing more.

A screen protector is not designed nor guaranteed to prevent screen breakage. It may prevent breakage in remote and unique circumstances, however there are no guarantees and no studies that show they do. Having said all that, I still recommend them as a deterrent, but they are best at preventing scratches and not breakages.

Exactly... An added layer of protection designed to protect the screen from light damage.
