Dumb question about .bak on Rubix ROM

Newbie here. I have been running the Rubix ROM but dont use some of the apps included in the ROM. Through rootexplorer can I just change the those apk (car dock, live wallpaper,swype) to .bak ?? Thanks.

You should be able to do that or use TitaniumBackupPRO to freeze them.

Unless you KNOW FOR SURE what you are doing, one could easily brick their device. It's a good thing to consult previous threads on this subject, as there are many available that list apks that are ok to rename/delete and others that are not ok. Deleting/renaming some apks and then doing a Factory Data Reset is a big no no for instance.
