hey guys...i have a storm right now and i am making the switch, but how good is the e mail push? like will i automatically get them and have them show up in the messages box or what?

Good question cheeta. That's one thing that I really like about my BB 8830. Blackberrys have instant email notification. Hoping the Android follows suit.

Pull?

From what I've read, it uses polling like the iPhone, rather than push like BIS/BES. If your email account supports IMAP, it should be instantaneous.

the workaround to get pushed everything seems to be to forward your other email to your gmail, and then it will get pushed with it.

kind of unorganized unless you setup some labels to sort it all.

I have heard that there are apps that will push any email. I think Se7en is one of them. I will deeply explore this on Friday!

Another question regarding Email......will there be a way to combine 2 email accounts and text in 1 icon like the Blackberry, or do you have to go into dedicated icons for each?

I've read separate as well as gmail being segregated as well. Bummer I know, but not something I can't get used to.

the gmail accounts use the gmail app, all other email goes to a combined inbox.

sms is part of a messaging app, but with the notification bar at the top, it seems like it won't be an issue as when you have messages, you can just use that bar and not have to be manually switching apps.
