Just preordered the Samsung galaxy note 8 so I'm trying to figure out what's the easiest way to take the data off my blackberry z10 phone and SD card and put it on the new phone when I receive it. When I got the z10 from blatckberry bold and put the sd card in the z10 I was asked to format it which would erase the data. Please help with simple solutions. Thanks in advance!!

Put the SD card into an adapter, then into your PC or notebook. Make a folder on the PC or notebook, and copy everything from the card to that folder. Just as a safety precaution.

When you put the card into the Note 8, you shouldn't be asked to format it, since it's already formatted (and, although I've never owned a BB, I assume that they format cards as FAT32 or exFAT [for cards larger than 32GB] - the same as Samsung phones do).

As for getting the internal data off the BB, since the phone runs BB OS 10, you can use Phone Transfer (https://transferphone.com/blackberry-contacts-sms-to-android.html ) to transfer contacts, texts, calendar, call logs, photos, music and videos.

(If you have any apps on the SD card they won't run in an Android phone, so don't transfer them. The same goes for Phone transfer.)
