i have a PC too and will prob attempt this later tonight, just wondering...

also, besides removing bloatware can u use all apps that require root? or do u have to wait for roms...are there any threads that list root apps or cool things to do with root?

You Mac guys can install Windows on a Boot Camp partition. A bit of a hassle, but well worth it on those rare occasions where you need to run a proprietary Windows app.

When I DL the program it gives me an error once its done DL'n. It reads " windows cannot open this file name tboltroot.far" can anyone lend a helping hand here?

i didnt know that the file RAR was a zip file. so its now unzipped and im rooting as we speak

Here's a noob question, which of the two zip files from the thunderbolt file do you Ned on the SD card, the downgrade one or the other one ?

i would assume you need both not sure how that works though cuz using ADB you name them same filename but are on sd card at separate times

This, you do the downgrade first with the correct .img name, then once rebooted and you do the .img again, it is the same name. so you cannot have both on their unless you named them different.

Just finished using the "Easyroot" method. It works really well but the instructions leave a LOT to be desired and it took me hours to figure out what was left out and to make it work.

I'm too tired now to go into the details but will post here tomorrow.

I have a Mac and I love you. There will be something before the days over, that mirrors what I did for Mac users in the Fascinate forums. I haven't wanted to put too much effort into it because I was expecting something like Z Root to show up soon, which would make these procedures irrelevant.

I don't believe that the ROM used in easy root is a downgrade which is why I used this one. The explanation and instructions given by the creator are skimpy at best but the user TheMorlance has a detailed set of step by steps in the thread, just look for it.
