Is anyone else a bit disappointed in the slow release of edge panels? I mean seriously.......we all took a chance buying a "concept" device. They sold out, so where is the reward for the end user......you know US.....the people who dolled out 900.00!

Exactly why I went back to my Note 4.

Well I won't go to a note 4 again because the edge is almost identical, battery life is a non factor for me and the screen size is barely noticeable. I would just like more edge panels. I'll still get my lollipop update and such. No point in switching just because of low edge panel dev support. I am just saying it would be nice to have some more edge panels.

Iwould love to also can get more panels on the edeg
but i don,t have lollipop how can i do that
the Phone give Always a notification when he must update
i would very muth want to know how to get the lollipop

Not particularly. I've learned to NEVER buy a device based on what it "might" get in the future. I always make my decisions based on whether the phone gives me what I want now. If it is going to get something in the future, then great but I don't count on it. Yes, more panels would be nice but I can live with what I got for now. Why go back to the Note 4? It's the same device without the edge.

The battery life between the edge and the Note 4 is very different. Please don't say that it is the same device

I've twice experienced a problem in the last two days where are the favorites all disappear in my note panel. Anybody have the same problem? Anyway to save these favorites so they can be restored??

He said the battery life is a non factory to him. Everyone uses their phone differently and he is not having an issue with the battery. You did not like the phone and you got rid of it. You have nothing to add to topic of the edge panels, so why are you here?

Actually, I purchased a spare OEM battery and charger for the Note Edge but have not even broken the seal to open the box yet.

Battery life is very subjective. When I first got the device the battery life took a beating because I was setting it up, making it my own, and barely put it down. However, now that I've settled into my normal use the battery life for me is very good.

Like has already been mentioned I too buy devices based on what they do at the time of purchase. If it never received an update or additional panels the Edge is fine just like it is. More panels would be nice, but I'm good with what I have.

Battery life is fine and I am a heavy user. Also bought a spare battery. Battery is not an issue for this phone. I would like to see more panels but what we have is fine. Love the night clock. Great screen and great phone.

I said battery is a non factor for me. I'll say whatever I want if that particular feature does not matter to me. I get more battery life out of my edge than my wife gets on her note 4 based on our individual usage. I do not care about having to charge my phone throughout the day. It does not effect me what so ever

I agree. This thread took a turn for the worse. Lol. I am simply saying more edge panels would be nice. I would never get rid of this phone. I love it. The phone has value and usability just sitting on my night stand in night clock mode. It is the best phone I've ever had.

Dude, also the battery on the edge gives most users a full day. Why are you even commenting on this thread?

It is new tech. Issues with new tech, especially on a limited production handset is that stuff rolls out really slow. What we can hope for is that Samsung releases other phones with the curved screen and more developers see opportunity. I like what it offers as is and being in tech I know that the high percentage probability is that not much more screen wise is going to show up due to its limited audience (1 million handsets). I would like to see what it would take to start developing in their language as Samsung has made the edge screen open source.

And as a non-owner (Verizon plan :-S ) I would assume the fast charge ability of 30 minutes to 50% would sorta eliminate battery issues. My hope is that I can run with a brighter screen than I currently do and not worry as much about stream lining battery consumption (within reason) because I "can" replace the battery if I torture it to death.

Personally I am hoping ESPN has a configurable ticker. :-)

You said it best. Battery is honestly a non factor. Especially for me. I take my fast charger that was boxed with the phone and have it plugged into my 12v inverter in my truck. No matter what I get endless hours of use as when I drive I charge and I get full battery on the way to my destination. I love this phone and I am so so happy with my purchase.

Additional panels would be nice but I would like more control over the existing panels. I would like to be able to set the panel displaying incoming texts to display longer, as they often disappear faster than I can read them. I would also like the ability to lock panels for a specified duration. For example, it would be nice to have the Spotify panel locked in place so I can easily access the controls while I am using other programs on the main screen. It seems like these would be relatively easy modifications. I realize this may affect battery life but I would like to have the option. BTW, my battery is 15-20% at the end of a typical day and I have a backup battery in case I am using it heavily and away from a charger.

Nice ideas. I am sure they'll gradually be implemented, considering the concept is only a couple of months old.

A few of us thought that the next S6 will be an Edge phone, but apparently it will not be, however, there is another rumor that just like the Note 4 release that the S6 may come in two flavors, Edge and normal. If S6 does get an Edge variant, that will certainly increase the interest in developing more apps just for the Edge panel. If not, don't hold your breath... :)

So what kind of Edge panels do we want? I would like a panel that displays stop watch, distance, heart rate and maybe O2 saturation from a fitness watch or band. While using a treadmill or other exercise equipment I could watch a video on the main screen and see my fitness progress on the Edge screen. Another feature I would like is a voice response on the Edge text screen so if someone sends a text I can hit a microphone symbol and speak a reply without using the main screen.
