I haven't tested extensively, but the bluetooth audio redirect bug DOES seem to be fixed. That was my biggest issue with the phone and *so far* it seems to have finally gone away. :)

My family has three epics and two of the three updated manually without any issues. The third one got into the boot loop and I followed the suggestions on this thread. Very impressed with the speed, battery life and BT reliability. Great job Samsung and Sprint.

I can't seem to disable the shutter sound on the camera anymore- even when the phone is on silent. VERY irritating. Anyone else have a fix?

Root your device and then you can rename the "ogg" file or shutter sound to a different name so the device doesn't recognize it....

Thats all I know of...

I think they did this on purpose so people can't get away with using those Market apps that allow "secretive camera pics..." The camera sound will "bust you" so your not breaking some privacy laws.. LOL.

Is there a root method for the official GB stock ROM that just came out?

Can anyone try to see if this call waiting bug has been resolved?

Say you're on a call with Caller A, and Caller B calls. You switch, talk to them and switch back to Caller A. Then Caller C calls. When you answer that call, the phone doesn't give the option to swap calls and go back to Caller A. You have to hang up, which disconnects everyone.

Does that behavior exist with this new update?

I was prompted to download the update but I had to charge the phone first. So I went back to the office, plugged it in, and now I cant find out where the update is? My phone says my software is up to date. Help? I want to update OTA.

Thanks

Paul - Im reading through this thread and you have been very patient with all of these questions. I am not a power user and I was able to figure it out with your instructions. lots of people are making mistakes because they dont take the time to read or search for the answer in your replies. ....geeeezzz

seriously, THANK YOU !!!

I installed the update.zip file on the first day it was out but still received
A notification from sprint that an update was ready to be installed. I of course said no. I thought I wouldn't receive the notification if it was already installed...

Try going to Settings, about phone and do a software update.

Same thing just happened to me. I manually updated last night and just got the update notice OTA. I of course declined.

I got the update notice from Sprint too, but it said that the update would be rolled out in the near future. The notice I got didn't say the update was ready to download yet. I assume this went out to everyone with the Epic? And it will probably check to see if your software is up to date before it downloads an unnecessary upgrade when it does roll out, right?
