Emailed Blu about 6.0 on Life One X

Confirming what others are also saying, I just got 6.0 on my BL1X last night, which is hilarious. I'm about to buy a Nokia 3 next month, so I guess for the next 4 weeks I'll use an OS that's 2 years out of date instead of one that's 3 years out of date. Fantastic, BLU. I don't even know why they bothered to release it a year and a half after the phone came out. Was it to claim they kept it "updated"? They "fulfilled" their promise? Whatever they need to tell themselves... this is hilariously useless. Actually next to insulting.

I've advised everyone I know NOT to buy BLU phones, and I suggest you do the same. Nokia has publicly reiterated they intend to keep their phones updated, and they confirmed users will get 8.0. That means, you get project treble, which makes future updates even more likely.

Bye BLU. You've been a joke, a lie, an exasperation and a final insult. Good riddance.

It's working fine here, the only thing that got slower is some animation with Nova Launcher, but this seems to be a known issue.

You can still write to your SD card, but now you have to set the SD card as "internal storage" or "adoptable storage." This requires formatting the card, so make sure to backup your apps and data!

I didn't backup before I upgraded, since I figured all my apps would still be intact. My phone ended up getting rid of the ones on the SD card (which were most of my games). Luckily, I recovered a fair bit of my game data from Google Play when I redownloaded the missing apps.

Does anyone know if Android > data is where game data is stored on the SD card? I backed up the whole SD card before reformatting my card for adoptable storage, but when I put all the files back on my phone none of the data got restored? Any help would be appreciated.

anyone here experiencing issues with the front camera after the system upgrade? mine is too dark even if its daylight..

Thank you, simplylogan93

I'll try that!

Update: It didn't work. Basically, I can access the card from some apps by granting the permission, but from other apps (text editor) which I used before the update, when I want to open a file I don't see the external SD Card.
Nonetheless, it's been good as I cleaned up the SD card.

OTA does not work when the phone is encrypted.

My One X had been encrypted. I tried OTA twice, but each time after the reboot when tried to install the update, the phone was turned off and never turned on. I had to long-press the power button to turn it on and it was not updated.

So, I had to RESET the phone to decrypt the phone (because Android does not provide an easy way to turn off encryption) and then installed the update.

Yes. Been battling it with BLU for about 2 months.

I wrote to them back and forth about 7 times. It was a nightmare. They'd ask for info and then after getting what they asked for they'd ask again as though we'd never spoken! I couldn't believe it. I basically had to very politely tell them off and demand better attention to detail. Anyway we eventually got to a point where they were willing to acknowledge the problem with the camera after several proofs sent by me and they said they'd do an RMA return but I'd have to be willing to be without the phone altogether for about a month and I just dont have another device to replace it so I'm out of luck. If you persist with photo proof of your dark camera screen, some dark photos, your IMEI and proof of purchase, I'm sure theyll offer you the same replacement/repair.
