Got Epic at 10:30 am @ best buy in skokiel, IL. 12:30 pm GPS issues, called sprint & they have no clue. Took it to the sprint store & they have no clue. 2:30 pm phone returned to Best Buy. This phone is worst than step mother.

sooo you returned it because of the GPS issue?

I think we all need to remember we all have choices. It's not one size fits all. I disagree with your title but we all have our own opinion. So far I really like the device (I have an EVO as well).

My Evo after all the calibrations goes about 20-25hrs a day with moderate use on stock ROM.

i did want this phone bad & yes I effing read the manual & effing called the effing Sprint tech who had no effing idea except to advice me to return the phone. I even effing took the phone to the local Sprint store who is effing tech support & they could not effing help me.

i am very heavy user of gps & internet approximately 20 hours a day & my evo was always on charge. As I said earlier I have been using cell phones even before most of you starting eating solid foods.

Well you do seem new to this forum.. So is this your first Android device? I have been working with hundreds of smartphones for about 5yrs now. I can tell you right now if your using GPS and internet constantly, that Epic will die just as fast as any smartphone does when it's under constant use.

This phone is worst than step mother.

This is worse post ever... Just kidding.

Epic fail on the spelling.

That's kind of a bad reason to take back a phone that is going to get a gps update in September, but from what i hear Is that there isn't a gps problem.

not new

i come to these forums quiet often just do not log in, i have used HTC HERO, DROID incredible, Moto Droid, DROID X, EVO 4g & now epic. I have successfully rooted & customized all but epic thanks to XDA forums. Just was really disappointed by EPIC 4g

Well if anyone is that unhappy with their EPIC why don't you send it to me and let me play with it for a while :)

I can't promise you'll get it back but I'll be a happy guy

seriously... complaining about THAT! Returning the phone for THAT! I mean come on!!!! I've seen some doozie reasons to return a phone, but after a couple of days, but like that! Clearly IMO this was a person who really didn't want the phone to begin with and was just looking for SOMETHING to take the phone back for.

the evo did not fail you just need two batterys that's what I do and it will last me day and a hafe

sent from my htc evo 4g

If your sissy fit was directed towards me you may want to regroup.
Device has GPS issue that was well reported in pre release reviews and by many current owners.
If that upsets you tough luck don't post in threads that disappoint you.

Oh Device is pretty nice I may keep if sprint steps up within next 30 days with fix

But what explains the lucky ones that don't have an issue?

I can definitely understand the OP when it comes to GPS because mine has to work but I dont see how he can expect great battery life using internet and gps all the time.. That will kill any phone quick...
