I'm helping friends to fix this issue.
One phone is HTC Desire (old one)
One is Samsung galaxy S2.

I tried the solution given by Jim on pg 1 but didn't work.
So I tried to remove the gmail a/c on the phones but the phones hv no Google Apps.

How do I remove Gmail account from the HTC & Samsung galaxy S2 phone without factory reset?

I tried the force stop tricks and still got the errors. I went to Accounts under settings, opened my Google Account and removed it, went to Add Account and re-added it and now my updates are back in service. I had to do the force stop on services framework a couple of times this weekend to get the 4.2.2 update on my Nexus7. Doing that must have fouled up something else. You gotta love this forum for finding the fixes to these aggrevations!

clearing data/cache/framework etc did not work for me on my N7 on 4.2.2

I removed my google account and re added and all 15 of my updates started rolling.

2)Choose apps & all
3)Select google services framework
4)Clear data
5)force stop
for every step press OK
now go to Apps and down load without error

Hey there, I was having same error message on my LG Thrill phone and I followed the steps
1: Settings
2. applications
3: manage applicaations
4: All
5: Scroll down to Google Play store
6 Clear cashe (NOT DATA)
7: Force Stop
8: Back out to Home Page
9:Follow steps 1 thru 4
10: scroll down to Google Framework
11: Clear Data (NOT CACHE)
12: Force Stop
13: Reboot Device

THIS IS WHAT I DID AND IT WORKED WONDERFUL. I SAVED THESE STEPS FOR FUTURE PROBLEMS!
