Even after they said they are shipping today I had very low hopes of anything happening so not surprising.
I think there is a strong disconnect between support, and whoever is doing the logistics/distribution. I don't know why it's so hard to give proper date. Basically under promise and over deliver, if you think you are not close to shipping then don't send emails to customers and take their money, and then try to sort out issues. Fix the issues first, get ready and then start notifying customers saying they are ready to take orders and give conservative shipping estimate and ship early to make the customer happy.
I emailed CNET, The Verge and Neowin to inform them that no one has yet received shipping notices. My guess is that Essential, and this is a guess, is having real issues with the software on their phone and will not release a phone until it is fixed, perhaps the camera issue.
My guess is they have a serious disconnect in communication internally.
I do not think so. I believe that customer service and all those people that are making comments about shipping have been told by Essential executives exactly what to say. I can absolutely promise you that Andy Rubin knows exactly what is going on and is directing this misrepresentation for purposes that only the executives and Board of Directors are privy to.
He says the camera is still bad after the latest update. //uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170826/8e38dd3931d46b5b3fa3083a7fc03ca3.jpg
