Essential Order and Shipping Thread

Forgot about the 360 camera. Maybe it's giving everyone the run-around? :p

Hopefully they are doing the 360 camera people as a separate batch and they will get their tracking numbers tomorrow.
 
If no one sees any updated tracking info in the next few hours on the FedEx site it's safe to assume they never picked the packages up today. Good news is orders that include a camera can be prepared tomorrow for pickup on Monday with what was prepped today.

That is if they will step it up and work all weekend to get the phones out.
 
I had that sinking feeling when I saw a lot of people getting their tracking information that it might have been the people who ordered just the phone and not the camera. I'm pretty sure when we ordered the camera, we all assumed that would come at a later date and did not anticipate it affecting the timely delivery of the phone! Take the camera back, Essential, just send me the phone pleeeeeeeeease!

Adding insult to injury, I used the "trick" to add the camera to my order a few days after I placed the order for the phone. That one appears to have bitten me. By the way, California here, ordered both, no tracking for me.

By the way, have any of you that received the shipping notice actually been able to track ANYTHING about your phone? When I click on the tracking #, I get a notice that there is no such tracking number at the moment. God, I hope that this is just not another Essential tactic.

Dang, super jealous of those getting notifications. I ordered just the phone on the 16th and still haven't heard anything. Guess I'll keep checking my account every hour for tracking info. Womp womp.
 
Has anyone that got their tracking number checked it this morning for arrival date?

I know this is a silly question, but does anyone think Essential will do anything extra to make up for the screw up?

No, it looks like numbers were created but nothing has been picked up. Probably Monday with delivery on Wednesday.

Doubtful. Apple, Samsung and Google never do anything when their popular phones are delayed or hard to get. Even a $1 kick-back to customers can be enough to pay for an employee's annual salary. Because of that, pennies are counted under a microscope.
 
I did reserve the phone and camera initially. On the 16th I only ordered and paid for the phone and insurance. Still no email 😕
 
I paid for the phone initially then the camera afterwards still nothing paid one hour after email for both this is ridiculous
 
I have emailed them countless times I've called their phone number during normal business hours no one will reply back to me no matter how many times I try I have emailed this company over 25 times and I've gotten no response this is the worst experience I've ever had with customer service
 
Tracking numbers mean nothing until it's in the possession of the shipping company. Until then it could just be a shipping lable stuck to an empty box.

Glad I decided to pass on my pre-order. To many other interesting phones coming out to deal with a company like this. Rubin is loosing whatever credability his name once carried.

Yeah I understand software issues etc, but their lack of communication again and again is remarkable. They have made a big mess of the launch and one can only hope this was just a misstep and they will improve.
 
So I did realize that they opened the doors 18 months ago and in that time and some how designed and manufactured the phone and started shipping. Pretty impressive!! So, I am going to chill enjoy the next few days and hopefully will get my phone next week.
 
For some reason they are having difficulty cancelling orders: emails keep coming to me since Friday after I wrote them that it may be too late to cancel ( despite no shipping notice)blah blah blah and either refuse shipment or return once received but "we're sure you'll love the phone." At this point I feel like it's being shoved down my throat and Essential doesn't want any cancellations hitting their books before they ship anything. At this point I'll wait and then judge since I have no choice.
If they can't cancel now I shudder to think what it will be like to return.
 
They're probably being shipped from China. That's the easiest explanation as to the order cancellation disconnect. Guess we'll know soon enough. FedEx tracking will show their origin.
