Correct, they changed the policy a couple months ago. no premier benefits for phones.

I got a response from Essential support an hour ago that phones will be shipping within the week. I do not know what that means. Do you?

Standard response I would assume. My guess is they will start shipping today or tomorrow.

Keep in mind that most of your $75 gets burnt up in tax since the phone is $699 plus tax* through Best Buy. But, you need to spend the card anyway, so I understand.

*except states/counties that don't collect sales tax, of course

That's same for ordering directly thru essential as well, they charge the same sales tax. So doesn't matter if you buy thru essential or best buy.

I'm in Seattle and I got charged sales tax for buying directly from essential.

Seattle probably needs to pay for their $15/hour minimum wage... lol

It could be due to Amazon. That's their HQ. Perhaps there's a tie due to their investment in Essential.

Yeah definitely buy direct from essential if they aren't charging sales tax for your state.

Pre-orders purchased direct last Wednesday are supposed to ship tomorrow. Hopefully they don't miss it.

I purchased the day I received the email. I have not received any notice that my order is in process nor has my card been charged. I checked my account and the phone is definitely ordered. I wrote to support and got an email saying they would check on the order. I have not heard back. I have a dark feeling about all this. Too much vagueness

I'm not sure why everyone is confused.... When you placed your order, It tells you at the end it would be shipped in the next 7 days. 7 days is tomorrow, So let's be patient and see what happens.

Fair suggestion. You are right, they did say shipping within the next week, which is tomorrow.
