Everybody got drain!! lol

My battery has been draining fast but i think it's because it's been updating apps, I've been transferring files from my old phone to my new phone, and I've just been setting everything up. but this wireless charging is so slow

Day:2 took the phone off the night stand at 7:00. At 3:36, it was down to 11 percent. Cell standby was at or around 30 percent. I did some email, web browsing, took some pix, and played some games (nothing hardcore).

What carrier?

I know it's just day 1 (Verizon) but this has me concerned due to the high screen on time. If I was idle all day I can see the screen and standby being equal, but not with my screen on so much. 1428723561353.jpg1428723575102.jpg

You had almost 4 hours of on screen time. That's very good for the
battery size and screen resolution. If I could get 4 hours of screen time I would be pumped.

So i managed to get the cell standby issue to go away by turning off volte and switching wifi calling to cellular preferred. I'm going to see if i turn on volte if i see the drain. i suspect either volte or wifi preferred.

Do you use power saving mode? I have T-Mobile and I went from 10:30 AM to 11:30 PM with 25% remaining, with wifi on all day, 4 hrs of screen on time, played music on my commute both ways around an hour total, viewed email, made calls, Bluetooth on connected to my gear neo all day, played a few games, watched a couple YouTube reviews, sent / received texts, and I'm sure more I missed...

No I don't use power saving mode. On day 1, I did nothing to the phone and the Cell standby climbed to 30 percent. Day 2 was different. First, I wiped the system cache. In doing so, I got a system update message. After reboot, I installed the OTA update. Then I tuned off voLTE and selected Cellular Preferred. I noticed that my cell standby went from 30 percent to 1 percent after playing about 40 minutes of Sky Force.During the 2 days, I've had Wi-fi on. Both days I got about 8 hours of usage. However, the 1st day I started at 79 percent power and the 2nd day I was at full charge. I'm about to start day 3 & I'll keep everyone posted.

So "Cell Standby" drain affects Verizon too? That's a pretty big Cell Standby number (18%), though not anywhere in the range of my T-Mobile which usually winds the day up between 30-40% Cell Standby drain. Please let us know how things progress. Thanks for posting screenshots.

Got mine the day before yesterday, it's AT&T, WiFi on, GPS on. Battery has been great.

Spent about 2 hours playing Sky Force, browsing the web, and checking email. Checked that Battery status and noticed that Cell standby is missing. Anyone know why?

Seems like it's just a few complainers on this forum who have had their phone for one day.

I'm sure it's probably just caused by something silly like people leaving automatic updates on, GPS, notifications, email retrieval constantly instead of every few hours, etc.

I leave everything on, all the time including bluetooth and my phone makes it a full 24hrs no problem. You shouldn't have to turn anything off.

Hi all, AT&T GS6 edge here. Right now I am on 7hrs 2mins, cell standby is at 15%, Screen "time on" 2hrs 45 minutes. Battery is exactly at 40% and it says approximately 5 hours left. I am definitely not impressed with the battery on this phone as I expected more judging on preliminary reviews from various tech sites but comparing to my iPhone these are exactly the usage stats I am getting on GS6 as on my iPhone 6. No surprises here but not bad on my book. Nothing is turned off except Voice over LTE. Good look everyone.

Coming from a Note 4 (which had OUTSTANDING battery life IMO) I wasn't expecting much, especially with a smaller battery. However, after 3 days it's not as bad as I thought. I hope an update fixes current bugs and gives us more battery life though.

Currently on 51% battery. 6h 34m since last charge. screen on time 4h 1m and this is all while brightness is at 100%. cell standby only 1%. don't know about anyone else but I'm pretty pleased so far
