OK you got me with the updates:). Did Samsung say they would give drivers and offer support? Htc obviously does care about the dev community, they gave out not 1, but thousands of of evo's at the Google i/o last year and htc even admitted to using fixes found on xda in their ota updates. The bootloader locking subject is over with...they already agreed to unlock phones, including the Evo 3d so no point bringing that up. Even though the custom roms aren't complete why do some many people continue to use them? There are so many who flash the roms, complete or not, and many times things that don't work aren't that important unless the rom is in its early stages and based off an android version not yet made for said phone. I would guess that more dual core friendly apps would be out on the way when ICS is released.

True. However, the iPad is a good example. The iPad 2 has a dual core processor and yea, its faster than the first one, but its not THAT noticeable, even in an app thats been optimized for the dual core. A few of the games like Infinity Blade and Asphalt 6 are a bit faster doing things but its not night and day. For most apps, its really not noticeable at all. It will be the same with the Android phones. Hardcore gamers will see an improvement with a dual core phone but everyone else who just does voice, texts, emails and web browsing...you wont notice much difference at all.

I see your point... I guess I was kind of talking about myself for a moment since I'm a huge gamer.

This is the point ive been trying to make for the most part.. I do agree gaming will be better on the evo.

For development the nexus is your best choice.

It will run much better I am sure. For non gamers, its a non issue though. When ICS comes, if we start seeing new graphics heavy apps that will show off a dual core, then maybe its time to move on to a phone with one. However, since most people cry about an app thats bigger than like 1MB, I wouldnt count on it happening so fast. We will see how it goes.

Yeah if he doesn't mind 3g, WiFi and Gps issues then yeah I agree go with the Nexus.

lol... I dont have any of these issues with the nexus, but honestly do you expect the evo to be flawless when it first launches... Below is a picture of what it looked like when it crashed on me earlier today from simply watching a 1 min youtube video.

Once again the evo will have issues, ive already encountered a few..

There are some pathetic individuals on these forums. Grown a*s men talking like they're 12 years old arguing about which game system is better. People making crap up about phones because they like a different manufacturer. My god, grow up. It's hard to even get straight information on here anymore because everyone is trying to flame each other over a freaking phone.

Oh yea, my camera crashed twice today.... Just saying..

Your right especially when a phone hasnt even been officially released. I do expect minor issues: camera, YouTube etc. But a phone that has been out for months having these issues: 3g, WiFi etc. No excuse ;) Just playing devils advocate :) Just giving him the flip side

From what ive heard from one of my friends at the local sprint store is that HTC is already experierencing "issues" with signal and gps. Probably a gingerbread thing more than a nexus thing

The nexus has been out a month on sprint, not months... Expect a software update to fix the weaker connectivity issues.. Still though, I havent had these issues.. If anything ive had more issues so far with the evo 3d. However I like the device, just making a point.

Right on, well like I said he's getting a lot of info either way, but he's better off getting it from both sides. You were making your point and I was making mine :)
Edit:I'm also sure the Evo will come out with it's own software update to fix the minor camera issue, let's at least let it get released

I think a more realistic poll should pit the Nexus 4G againt the original EVO and even then the results would probably be similar. The Nexus does not even belong in the same sentence as the EVO3D as it is a come late to the party phone with year old tech. I cant think of one single feature where the Nexus is even remotely competitive and please don't tell me the pentile riddled super amoled screen (not plus) or limited storage capacity - whether internal or not. My EVO3D will be carrying a 32GB card that I already purchased. This has got to be a joke - no offense intended to OP.

He's getting pros and cons to both phones sounds like a win for me. Just having a little friendly banter is all, lighten up :)

Wasn't talking about you. I'm talking about the idiots making up crap about a phone that hasn't even been released yet and have no idea what they're talking about.

Well you said dont tell you, but I will anyways, the super amoled display is still better.. Sorry if thats not what you wanted to hear, but its the truth... My pictures turned up better than the evo 3ds with my nexus.. Have you used the evo 3d yet? Its really not all that fast... the nexus opened some apps faster, and streamed videos better for the most part... Not sure where you got your info from, but the 3d does not flat out out perform the nexus like you seem to think.. Not saying the evo isnt a more capable device, just saying.. Also, this is not a joke:)

Well I for one havent made up anything.. Ive been using both devices, and have no need to lie, or make up false claims.. I am only going by real world experience... I own phones made by both companies.
