Evo HDMI out mirroring?

I got to play with the app for about an hour yesterday. I played angry birds for about 30 minutes. Not a single hiccup. Just some web browsing and watched a few videos. As long as you play in the browser your good but, if I let skyfire start the stock player it will hose the hdmi every time. I've never had to reboot my phone. Just stopping and restarting the brings my screen back.
If there was a way to select another app to play video it might be golden. As of now I don't know of a way to select the default media player.

Any of the testers tried Sprint TV? I would be dope to watch ESPN from your EVO to your tv.

Yup......Sprint TV works, Slipngplayer works and I think someone posted that Hulu works, too. I'd have to flash the Hulu fix to try it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.

Edit: I flashed the Hulu fix to try it, and it works. I could not get the Hulu app to actually play the video, but the HDMI software mirrored it just fine onto the TV. I'm sure if the video would have played, it would have worked just fine.

have you tried running skyfire in both modes(pc,mobile) to see if one works and the other doesnt? maybe it has something to do with the way they optimize their mobile streams? just a shot in the dark...

The thread is 41 pages long. If you took time to tell me to read the thread I'm wondering why you didn't just answer the question...

bout two weeks is what the op says...
i was tryin to do you a favor theres a lot more info about this if you read the thread and even a way to possibly get it early as a beta tester

Tried streaming a movie from PC over the LAN through ES File explorer, ES doesn't support streaming. It tried to start caching it, so it may work, I just didn't want to cache an entire movie to my phone lol.

-PowerAmp and DjStudio work great. Great idea for party, able to hook up some music quickly. I don't have surround sound hooked to on my TV, but that would be a really cool idea.

-Camcorder and Camera work great. I think the mirroring with the camcorder could be used in a classroom setting, or a demo to a large audience.

Wondering what the Sprint TV quality was like on a big screen. It seems to be pretty pixcelated on the 4.3" EVO screen, so I would imagine it looks terrible on a big screen.

Good to hear !!! Dying to try this beta out over here.

OK, thanks.

Wondering the thinking behind not launching the phone with this capability. Seems like a pretty good tool, especially outside of "I wanna play PS1 or NES" into the business world of presenting and leaving the laptop at home. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and assume there's an explanation and reason, just curious to hear it.

i really wanna try this with my playon.
If it works that gives us hulu and drum roll........ wait for it.........
netflix!!!!! no stupid drm issues, and a bunch of other media servers as far as i know playon is the only way to access netflix from an evo.

Yea, Sprint TV looked pixelated. Considering it doesn't even use the whole width of the screen, you'd think the compacted image would look good, but it looks very crappy on both the phone and the TV. Definitely not the HDMI app's fault.

I think I've aged 10 years...the anticipation of refreshing my inbox in hopes that the .apk will be there has proven to be too much.
