I dont have my hdmi cable on me at the moment or id try for you now.

dont forget to get the female to female hdmi coupler and of course your phones hdmi.

nope a hdmi to rca should work just fine...

Just curious, why is there a VGA adapter AND yellow video cable? Is it just an either/or thing?

Nice fyi btw...I never knew the analog cables could carry digital signals. I am assuming some signal quality loss, maybe???

I tested some GameLoft games, most did not work. I also tested Gun Bros. I tested on both Hardware and Software rendering mode, on Landscape, and with Supercharge on and off. I got the same results with each different combination except Dungeon Hunter.

SandStorm: "video cannot be played"

FishingKings: Video crashes, sound works. Looks kinda like when the old nintendo did not start up properly. The HDMI app gets hosed, requiring phone reboot.

Let's Golf 2: Starts up working on Tv, but screen on phone is blank, press button on phone TV goes blank with no HDMI signal. After game is shutdown, mirroring on tv crashes, requiring phone reboot.

Dungeon Hunter: FC on Landscape, HW Rendering, Supercharge Off.
Works on Landscape, HW Rendering, Supercharge On.

Gun Bros. Video Crashes, sound works. HDMI app gets hosed, requiring phone reboot.

If anyone has any of the games can you confirm these crashes.

Does any of the tester have those apps/games Frontay is reporting so we can compare results?

google female to female hdmi coupler. its so you can combine two hdmi cables or in our case turn a male connection into a female we can plug into with our evo hdmi cables.

Yea im right there with you id love to be in on the beta testing i could test it on tons of tvs i install industrial entertainment systems and home theaters all day.

Both it will work strait over hdmi to your tv and with the hdmi to rca cable, thats what i use in my truck.

Well not really. any 480p tv yes,for an lcd thats its lowest resolution(thats what most a/v car displays are). most older tube tvs wouldnt work without a modulator

just tested and u tube is plug and play even without the full hdmi app. although i imagine with the acceleration he has implemented it will probably be a lot better with the app.

I don't think it is just a matter of time for Orrebmas...I think at this stage he is looking for the right kind of testers and not too many for him to handle. I pm'd him too back when he started the xda thread that blew up before it got shut down. Really, there is only so many people he can dialogue with on issues before it is counterproductive. I would love my pm just as much as everyone else, but it is best at this point if we just wait for more progress and his official beta release sometime around 2 more weeks. After all, it will be worth the wait!!!!!! He is finally bringing me the feature i most looked forward to on this phone!!!

I tested two of them and posted my results a few posts after the one you quoted. Sandstorm worked fine for me, but I could not get Gun Bros. to come up. It looked like it wanted to, but never did. I'm using Myn's Warm 2.2 RLS 5 rom, hardware 002 by the way. (Edit: Got Gun Bros. to work.....see my post below)

To everyone providing info on the HDMI-to-RCA deal, thank you much. The cable listed by fittek at Amazon is the same exact one I have. However, since I never got it to work, I took it out to not have the cable hanging from under my dash if I wasn't using it. To test it now, I'd have to take my radio out to plug it back in. I don't mind doing it, but I won't be able to until tomorrow since I didn't bring it with me to work. I have the tools I need to take my radio out, and if I had the cable with me, I'd do it during lunch. lol

Please note you also need something like this:

Micro HDMI to HDMI adapter for Moto Droid X,XT800,EVO4G - eBay (item 120681247915 end time Mar-07-11 22:37:44 PST)

Obviously, the Evo doesn't have a regular size HDMI port so you need one of these to pair connect the Evo to the said cable.

I think we should leave this subject alone now and let this thread focus on orrebmas' app. We've gotten a bit off topic with this. I'm just as guilty as anyone......I'm just saying....... Unless someone beats me to it, I will test this out by adjusting the output resolution on my phone and post my results here. I will do my best to do this by tomorrow.

Sorry guys, but my 2 y/o loves my phone and plays her games on it all the time. You should have seen her face when she saw her games on the TV!

However, there is another app she loves called "Kids Zone" and it has a few flash games on it and videos. The flash games are fine, but when a video is chosen, (short songs like "wheels on the bus" and "if you're happy and you know it"), either you get video with no sound or a blank screen altogether. The videos are played through the stock media player, so it could be what orrebmas was saying about the OEM media player being very resource hungry. It kinda sucks, because this is one of her favorite apps.

Also working for the big kids:

Asphalt
Skies of Glory
Fruit Ninja (just wanted to see if it works; hard to play not watching the phone screen)
Heavy Gunner
Nesoid and SNesoid
Sky Force (game is played in portrait mode which sucks, but it works)

Works with screen flicker with or woithout supercharged mode:

Torque (I love this app and want to get this working on my car's in-dash)

Also, I tested Gun Bros. a few more times, and I was able to get it to work in supercharged mode. At first, it gave me a black screen, then lines across the screen. After a few times stopping and started the HDMI app and loading the game, it made the right "handshake" and came on the screen. This game on the TV is AWESOME!!!!! You don't need to look at the phone for hardly anything to play this game.
