Evo HDMI out mirroring?

Shinzul tested the app that was posted and confirmed it as working. It is unclear who leaked the files although accusations were flying. All the threads where the finger-pointing was going on have been deleted. There is only one HDMI thread left where the apk was posted (even though the post with the apk was removed). I'm surprised no one has started to blow it up yet. XDA Evo forum has been a soap opera all morning.

Okay everyone, lets not drag this up over here or it's going to quickly get out of control. Lets keep this thread on topic for the Development of this feature, Orrebmas will handle it however he chooses and the XDA thread is gone. Any naming or speculating about who did what on this is only going to turn into a nasty witch hunt.

He knows exactly who leaked thee apk cause only 1 person had that certain apk... It is people like this that f**k it up for everyone!!!

I did get a chance to poke around with the apk...

Among all the drama-fest, I did have a constructive critique - it seems when you play a youtube video, it spazzes out. I am fairly certain the cause is that because on Sense, youtube loads HTC's hdmi_exe daemon, which writes only the hdmi_play part of fb0... you can tell because on stock sense, the youtube GUI overlay stays and the video portion goes to fb1.

Anyway - you may want to completely remove the sense daemons (hdmi_albumexe I think?) and see if that fixes it.

I guess praising Orebbmas over at XDA gets you banned now. This is what they posted:

You have been banned for the following reason:
Next time you post like that in the HDMI thread, try to do it in a less offensive manner
Date the ban will be lifted: 25th February 2011, 07:00 PM

WTF!!!!! Just for telling the truth. BOYCOTT XDA!!!!

Again, we need to leave the XDA issues over on XDA and not bring them up here. So far this thread has been pretty stable, lets not pollute/derail the only viable news/update source we have right now.

Yeah we have noticed YouTube and the native video player freak out with the FullHDMI app. Your findings on the problem could be helpful, thanks.

I don't think Sam needs to worry about it. He is in good company. Every great mind through history has had their work stolen more than once. And down the road someone will probably try to sign their name to all of Orrebmas hard work, but it won't matter.

History will vindicate that Sam Berro made the impossible possible, not anyone else. He has maintained his integrity the whole time, and out of respect for him, I will keep maintaining that.

The new app looks great. Really polished. I am going to do some testing right now, and let you guys know how it goes.

Also, I think this will be open to those looking very soon. On behalf of Orrebmas, myself, and I am sure anyone else lucky enough to help in the testing, we appreciate the patience of all of you who supported this, and continue to support the development of it. The possibilities are just beginning.

I totally agree Bradley and as for everyone else, I'm sorry bringing up XDA in my last post. It just bothered the heck out of me that they would do such a thing. Anyways, good thing I have two accounts, right? ;)

Back to Orrebmas! :cool::cool::cool::cool::cool:

Interesting find - You might want to pm/note him this one if you haven't already. I know he's planning on about a week off of things to spend some time focusing on family, so would hate for this to get lost or buried in that time

No, but I don't see why it wouldn't work. The app only bugs with things that play through the OEM media player. Since this is its own app, I'm sure it will be fine.

Has anyone played with the new version yet? If I adjust the resolution to fit the TV screen properly, I get a black screen. I was able to make adjustments with the previous version without this problem. Once I uncheck the "Force Res." button, the image comes back but cut off.

Anyone experiencing anything like this?

Edit: Nevermind......got it work. Apparently I was setting the resolution way too high for the TV I was testing on.

I tried to pm orrebemas about the apk he sent for the stock Evo. I can't seem to get it to work no matter what I do. My tv will turn black like it wants to play something then that's it.

After everything that happened today, he is going to be taking a break from this. I can't say that I blame him. We'll try to help you here.

Anyway, did you install the kernel along with the apk?

Edit: Wait, you're the guy who was going to test the unrooted phone, right? Which would mean you can't flash the kernel, so disregard my question. It'd be kind of hard for me to help you because since I have root, I can't replicate your problem. Make sure supercharged mode if off, hardware mode is off, and "force res." is unchecked. Try again, or advise if you already had it this way or tried it. Please note that certain things won't work without hardware mode, so try a few things out and see if anything pops onto the screen.
