Evo HDMI out mirroring?

ok installed the kernel and the apk. all it does on jiminy rom is look like it makes static and it blinks in and out real real fast. Then after i uninstalled it thinking it was me i installed the app again and now my Evo wont even show i have HDMI cable hooked up to it(in the app or outside the app).

Excellent work! If the kernel could be tweaked to run smooth like stock #15 this would be unstoppable! Not sure if that's even possible or if its just the price you pay for having full HDMI? Either way it still rules...SALUD!

He has said that the modules and other stuff's in the kernel can be used by other kernel dev's (netarchy :D) to cook into their kernels from the get go.

just did that and atleast it recognizes the hdmi now. BUT if i try to play a video even without the app on just regular video i recorded then it just does like static blinking really fast still. In the App and regular hdmi to.

I did wipe dalvik and cache

It wasn't tested on that rom. Might be a problem.

Well I'm here to pass my first impression.

Most excellent work! I flashed the HDMI zip file then installed the main app. Plugged in to my TV (42 LCD) and BINGO....it's working perfect! I'll goof with some video later but all I can say is Torque looks wonderful on a 42 inch screen.

Now, if I can just figure out how to get that damn screen mounted in my car? :)

I'm having the same problems (it also says "Error Stopping Service" when changing portrait/landscape, etc). However, I've rooted my phone, installed the kernel-- is there a new kernel?

My EVO is totally stock with no other changes besides rooting (which I did just for this app).

It worked the first time I tried it-- but it then froze when toggling portrait/landscape.

Regardless, you rock Sam! I'm sure it's some finicky config setting or something that will get sorted out.

If your mirroring goes outside of your tv screen, a good setting for me is: 1140*640

Stock Browser works really good. Type about:debug in browser and change UAString to Desktop if you want a more desktop looking browser. Youtube streams great from inside the browser. No flickering there.

Angry Birds runs great, no flickering. Very tiny Lag. So tiny, doesn't really affect the game at all.

The homescreen is smooth as well.

Email, Messaging apps, running good too.

Google maps is ok. It flickers a little bit every 6-7 seconds but is still usable.

Youtube App does not run good at all. Lots of flickering. But does run great via hdmi natively without running this app.

Sprint TV is running nice. When you click on a channel, loading screen looks wierd, but then the streaming comes on and looks great.

NOVA runs really really good. No lag what so ever.

Im testing this on: Fresh 3.5.0.1

Works great! Is there a feature to turn off phone screen while playing video? I'm using rock player for.avi & mkv. Thx.

Got it running-- just did a reboot, it's all good, all functions seem to be working. Weird. Everything works FREAKIN GREAT! You rock, Sam!

I am sure orrebmas could enable this feature, but then it wouldn't be true mirroring would it?

From what Orrebmas told me the HDMI function is related to the qualcom chip thus the screen must be on.

I just wanted to congratulate Orrebmas for doing something nobody else could!!

Its sad that certain people tried to cause problems and make false statements to shut him down but in the end they are the ones with egg on their face while Orrebmas is vindicated a 1000 times over. Orrebmas is a true developer and a great addition to the EVO modding community. Once again my EVO is better than any other phone on the market and its nearing its one year birthday. Lastly any coward that hacks this apk and tries to make it their own will forever be known as coward and copycat, it takes a true developer to build something from scratch.

Thank you Orrebmas. :)

ok so ive been playin with this for a bit now...
im on a 42" pioneer plasma
need for speed works awesome 480/720p
Slacker radio works great unyill a video commercial comes on then it flips out, lots of glitching.
* 480/720p bitbop doesnt work when you select play in app the app stays up and everything else that comes after layers on top.
* 480/720p raging thunder has bad shadowing looks like a double of the video is on half the screen but out of vert control.
*skyforce works awesome! it you need to be in portrait mode but this app actually makes it easier to play the game because your finger isnt blocking the screen.
* hulu works but has the same glitchy double imaging
* droidtv works till you play a video then has bad glitching constantly flashes back and forth between player and app screen. some time if you tap the screen the video will stick but all around the corners you can still see the app screen flashing
* homerun challenge is awesome works great
*rockplayer works great! watched a whole episode of family guy in 720p and it worked great, tried a .mkv rip of red and it was a lil choppy but i think thats because of the .mkv file structure i wanna re-encode it to mp4 and see how it does, with this app and rockplayer you've got a portable hd media player... nice.
The home screens look very sharp and nice smooth seems like anything that tries to go anywhere near the stock media player that works across hdmi without this app already really glitch badly. i get a slight flashing effect on the home screen but not bad at all.
ive tested all of these on my pioneer 110bt and i get pretty much the same results except for the flashing isnt hardly there at all. looks very good watched half of pirates of the Caribbean with rockplayer and this app audio and video were flawless.

Hey fittek... How did you get hdmi to rca? I bought that cable you linked plus micro hdmi to reg hdmi adapter and am getting nothing... Won't even detect cables connected

Im running Jiminy ROM(cricket rom) and its not working for me.Worked the first time i plugged it in then unplugged it & I get nothing but Static flickering REALY FAST. This is also the same on the original HDMI also. without this app all it does is flicker real fast. Maybe the Jiminy Rom is not compatible with this.

Could it be possible i messed up something installing and then uninstalling it?

im thinking maybe its your micro to reg hdmi adapter? i used the cord i linked plus a hdmi female/female adapter then i just use my hdmi cable to plug in to that.
remember it has to be 420p or less to work on mine. what are you trying to play?
