This is working great. I'm using it on a 3 year old 42" Samsung plasma.

I'm currently using the stock rom.

Thanks to Orrebmas for all of his hard work!

I just bought on ebay a DVImale - HDMIfemale adapter to try and use this on my computer 22" lcd monitor. Would that work?

So I tried sams hdmi mirror app and this is my experience with it I use the Sprint lovers Rom and it worked well except for some flickering and colored lines I also used the myn 2.2 warm rSL 5 Rom it to also also worked well not as much flickering with this Rom but I stuck with Sprint lovers do to faster internet browsing this app is almost perfect for sense find can't wait till it comes out for cm7 Rom so I can use hid Bluetooth and keyboard and have a laptop in the palm of my hands

The res of my Panasonic Plasma TV is 1920 x 1080, but when I force the res to that my TV screen just turns black. When I unclick Force Res the screen turns on again. Any solutions (to get it so my tv doesn't cut the edges of the phone screen)?

Thanks for the heads up about the kernel. As an update, I flashed the kernel, and got it working. It froze at bootup the first time, but after clearing Dalvik / cache, and giving it about 4 minutes to boot up (the first time after clearing the cache is always long), I was in.

It's pretty incredible. My jaw literally dropped a bit when I saw my Evo screen mirrored perfectly on the monitor! But it's not quite where I'd use it to watch movies or anything. Some feedback:

1. Evo seems to function at 16bit color. Not really as noticeable on the handset, but when you have a large screen you really notice the color banding and gradients. My understanding is that the system CAN function in 24-bit color, and even the Evo screen can do it, but currently nobody has that working. If there's a way to enable it for HDMI output, though, that would be amazing.

2. There are a lot of glitches running at 720p. It's understandable, but I was getting a full-image flicker every few second or two, and it was hard to get use to.

3. It's really surprisingly smooth (720p at at least 25-30fps, it seems) and very little (10ms or less) lag. That said, watching videos, you do see the image isn't consistently smooth, like when there are pans and zooms. I think right now the fps is probably uncapped, but it would be great if there were an option to lock it at something (like 25fps), so that the framerate stays consistent.

4. The image color is a bit shaky. Meaning the brightness or color profile will be constantly shifting a bit, even when there aren't full screen glitches.

I'm not sure what Supercharge mode did, but it didn't seem to improve (or worsen) performance for me.

Anyway, that's all. I really can't wait until this is perfected and baked into our favorite ROMs. Where do we find a donate link (other than on the app itself)?

Great job Sam! I am running a rooted stock ROM with the HDMI kernal posted in this thread and I am loving this app. Thank you for all of your hard work and dedication.
Is anyone noticing a slight audio lag when watching video using RockPlayer?

Did you try leaving the stock settings and adjust the screen settings of your TV? Most TVs will clip the edges off with default settings

Thank you so much man, you are truly a great evo developer. The app and kernel worked great on my evo running mikfroyo 4.5 with adw launcher, minus some screen flickering in angry birds, hulu, and internet. Keep up the great work and I'll continue testing!

dude you said it yourself 1080 .... your evo only supports up to 720p thus the black screen. your trying to force a resolution that isnt supported.
