I am smoking a cigarette while they try to get the sprint system to respond. Bah.

Yeah... I just went down to get mine, but there was a line, and it seemed like none of the staff could get through. I stood there for about 20 minutes with no progress, so I turned around and came back to work.

I'm pre-ordered, so I'll try back there after lunch... I just hope they don't sell my phone in the meantime.

Damn, it's like the Iphone launch a while back. Good news though, means the phone is crazy popular and more support for Android is always good.

yeah, it's definitely bogging down the system. I'm standing here now... Overheard her say that they have to call them in from now on.

Btw.. 20 pre orders here. And I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm surprised there are even that many.

haha, oh wow... Now even the "call in" system is down. So they can't call it in or do it online. Nothing to do but keep trying..

Haha.. Sprint Corp Store was working flawlessly.

I giggle now at all the pre-order folks. I keed I keed.. :)

:)

Got my Evo around 8 my radioshack worked flawlessly to set me up and I am good to go . I pre ordered and everything worked out smoothly for me :) . When I got there it was only two people setting up before me and I didnt have to deal with any lines because there were none : - D

The Shack Employee: "You wouldve thought corporate wouldve learned from the last big rollout.."
Me: "What was the last big rollout?"
The Shack Employee: "The iPhone"

still waiting...

My local Shack had 6 to sell that weren't pre ordered. I got the first and the rest were claimed by the line before I left the store. Activation took several times to go through, but I'm up and running now.

Had an appointment at 8:30, didn't get out until 9:45. Already a bunch of people waiting and pre-ordering. Sprint system was bogged down, they weren't sure whether the activations were going through properly, in the end it took a phone call from RS to Sprint to confirm my order was complete. Now I'm waiting for the number porting from my old carrier to happen.

They were swamped in RS, but they were trying their best. It really wasn't them, it was Sprint, so I appreciated how patient they were. Seems like they had so many pre-orders it slowed everything down like crazy... reminded me of iPhone 3G day!

Now I've got me EVO sitting and waiting. I think my number has been ported already because my old phone is showing "no service", but they said to wait for an hour or so just in case they it will, apparently, "self-activate" when I switch it on.

Yeah, if the phone is activated in Sprint's system it will automatically activate itself when it calls in to the tower. I read the manual :o

wife had no issues getting mine at the sprint store this am its up and running with no known issues.... but i dont get to play with it for another week looks like my dispatcher is going to keep me away from the house till time off:(

just got back, having issues with trying to confirm order from RS. I rather not go back. Could I call them and have them talk to sprint? It's raining here and my car broke down once already trying to get to the damn store.
