evo stuck in fatsboot hboot 2.02 s-off

- do you mean how much battey life does it currently have? if so im not exactly sure but i can pop in a 100% charged battery if needed

yeah why not, here's my plan, you're on hboot 2.02 with s-off but your phone has crashed in fastboot, for some reason it's not letting you right recovery, so I first want to try first flashing an older more fun less problematic hboot.

if you can grab this file: xda-developers (you'll have to sign in at xda) - then extract it and put it in your tools folder and type

fastboot flash hboot hboot(filename).img

you can rename the hboot file in the zip to like "hboot.img" and then put it in that folder to make it easier - i'm about 30/70 that this will work..

next step is to get the latest RUU as it's probably allowed to write to your partitions and then bring the phone down to root w/s-off from there, but i'd hate to do that...

i dont wanna screw this up so let me be sure- i downloaded that file u linked me to- it was evo.hboot.zip or somethen- it extracted to a folder of the same name- inside there was a file called HBOOT.ZIP- i extracted that and inside was a hboot folder- inside of that was hboot2.0000somethn.img thats the file im supposed to rename to hboot.img and place in tools folder correct? if so then after i rename to hboot.img i would type this exactly below ? am i right

fastboot flash hboot hboot.img

the file should be: EVO_HBoot_0.76.2000

it should be hboot_0.76.2000.img that you rename to hboot.img

just to confrim, if that is what you have then your syntax is fastboot is right.

ok kool..-- dumb question but do i need to have a memory card installed for any of this process? i dont have one in there right now

I'm actually not sure, if it wasn't in before when you tried the RUU you have there's no harm in trying it again with it in there I guess. I don't know if it needs to write there for any temporary type of stuff but I'm not 100%

ok donwnlaoding now-- i got a different ruu i downlaoded a while ago to complete once again 100%- however phone still freezes after startup- i am able to access bootloader and fastboot again though but still no recovery

wow ok , so it managed to install the boot loader - that's good!!! hold on a sEC!!

hm, is fastboot available in the bootloader? - what I'm thinking is I want to get you to put a PC36IMG.zip on your sdcard for the bootloader to read and install. Do you hvae any way, other than the phone that can't mount it right now, to put it on there? another phone or card reader or whatever?

lol ok kool- thanks for hangen in there with me even if it doesnt work at the end im satisfied that i got the most help i could-
im currently downloadeing the odexed version
Supersonic_3.70.651.1-Odexed_signed_teshxx.zip

crap I messed up, that'st he wrong file, but keep D/Ling it anyway for right now. Remember this file: Multiupload.com - upload your files to multiple file hosting sites! - you got it earlier as PC36IMG_recovery.zip, get a fresh copy, rename it PC36IMG.zip and put it on the root of your SD, let the bootloader flash that recovery and then from that recovery you can flash the zip you're grabbing now.
