EVO update 3.70.651.1 pushing out now!

Hey all,

Played with it a little.

None of the new apps are removable.

Swype freaking rocks. I'm really happy they added this.

I toggled 4G on, even though I have no signal for it, and it didn't make my phone lag. I'm not sure if it's fixed or if it's just because no signal was found but it seems to be better. Yeah, just tried it again and no lag. I did find the scanner thing. You have to toggle 4G then, with no signal, you go to the 4G options and there is a "Tap here to scan for 4G" button. Maybe this takes care of the lag? Since it's not constantly looking it's not bogging the phone down? Just an idea.

Other then all that, I didn't see much else different.

Good luck all.

Yellow triangle with exclamation point on stock rom rooted via unrevoked hardward 003. Need help on how to fix this, is there a way to manually download the update to get pass this. I had to pull the battery and restart my phone. Help Help Help EVO down....not really but cant update.

Ok, so I took some screen shots right before and right after the update. It actually says I have more internal memory after the update. Correct me if I'm wrong please.
And can anyone explain what the red/yellow/green bar on the bottom of the "Running services" screen is?

Look at the time to tell which screen cap is before the update and which one after

soooooooo where is the Scan for 4g widget? I have the same ole 4g toggle widget but no scan widget

So what are we suppose to do then to get the update? AC-ROM is no longer in service and thats what I use

As far as I know, you need to wait for the rooted updated software to be released (should be on xda shortly). But really, I'm not the one you should be asking, as I'm not even rooted myself... yet;)
And I believe this question has been asked many times before, so do some searching here or on xda-developers

Settings --> Wireless & networks --> 4G settings --> "Tap to scan for 4G service"

Grayed out if 4G is off or has signal.

Edit: I don't think it's a widget. Just a new option? IDK, I don't get 4G so I rarely use it.

I saw that option but I was under the impression there would be a widget for it...hmmm. Oh well, thanks anyways

Yeah me too.
If I do a factory wipe, does that remove rooting?
I may just do that. I did a backup with Nandroid. I only rooted to try the free tether app. I don't need that.

That's your recovery. If you did unrevoked forever and are s-off, you just have to re-flash su and your choice of recovery

No it does not remove rooting. You will keep your custom recovery. It will, however, erase su, so you'll have to re-flash that

i downloaded the update. nothing exciting for me.

1. Blockbuster - are they still in business??? - no thanks.
2. Kindle eReader - no thanks.
3. NOVA from Gameloft - no thanks.
4. Sprint Zone update - no thanks.
5. Latest Telenav - i use Google Maps Nav - no thanks.
6. Latest VVM App - already had.
7. Latest Sprint TV app - no thanks.
8. SWYPE Keyboard - no thanks.
9. Scan Now Widget for 4G - unnecessary and redundant - no thanks.

this update appears to be 99% bloatware. i don't spite HTC or Sprint for trying to make some extra money - but if you're going to force bloatware on me - at least give me some more standard internal free memory on my EVO to begin with. OR let me delete the bloatware post-update. and why not wait until the Gingerbread update in a few weeks/months to hit us with all of this - why not do it all at once?
