EVO update 3.70.651.1 pushing out now!

Don't know that you have cause to sue, but I have been wrong before. The update is not mandatory.

A little different from MS's nonsense, IIRC.

I think you're definitely right in this case. With Microsoft it was more a matter of IE being a first-party application, with the claim that Microsoft's including it by default blocked out competitors, creating a monopoly. In this case Sprint is just pushing applications for whoever is willing to pay them.

My phone has been running exactly as it did before, so I can't notice any difference. I've heard of some people experiencing differences when using 4G, but unfortunately it isn't available in my area. Everything else seems to run the same, though.

I wouldn't mind getting all that useless software if there was a easy way to remove it. I wounder if a class action lawsuit could be filed for preinstalling unwanted software and not being able to remove it. Kinda like microsoft was in teh whole ie installtion scandle? Yes I know I can root and uninstall the stuff, but I have not looked into rooting enough to do it. Plus I don;t want a permenant root on the phone, only long enough to uninstall the crap.
Your not serious, are you?

Has anyone figured out a fix for the audio and video streaming issues after the update. I can only stream with a wifi connection otherwise I just get connection dropped messages. trying to use xiia and cherry player. Somebody also said the sirius/xm app would not stream anymore either. A friend of mine did a factory reset and re-installed those apps and still nothing.

can i install the update from my memory card if my service was disconnected?

not 100% sure but i think you should be ok as long as you are at least connected to the internet via WIFI. the EVO MAY need to talk to the Sprint servers during the update process so i would make sure you're connected.

maybe delete the update from your SD card using Astro and then try to re-download the entire update and then try to install?

I seem to be getting better battery life after this update.. Anyone else?

not sure yet - i'll get a better feel for this tomorrow after a full work day. my EVO UI does seem snappier, crisper, and faster though.

Streaming audio problem with 3.7 HTC update..

I am also having garbled audio problems with the update... some streaming audio programs refuse to work including Sirius radio and Xii Live... Winamp works, but with garbled audio... HELP! anyone fix this?

I just installed the update and now I am having problems with audio streaming. I was listening to streaming audio via shoutcast prior to the update and it was working clear and fine. After the update, went back to the same shoutcast station and there are all kinds of interference and "bubbly" noises going on. I've tried a few different apps and different stations, all with the same result. Anybody else having problems like that?

I would suggest not updating if you use streaming applications such as XiiaLive since this update introduced some issues with streaming... I think Sprint is behind this streaming restriction... :(

I decided not to update due to a lot of complaints I've been hearing, and not just from a few folks on this forum.
