EVO update 3.70.651.1 pushing out now!

Has anyone tried to connect to 4G to see if the update has cleared up the issue with lag when 4G is enabled?

Defect remains after update. Can't believe it. Back to cm rom. Better be fixed w/Gingerbread. Paying money w/this defect ticks me off.

This is total garbage. I have put up with this phones horrible battery performance, laggy 4g, and $10 extra a month since the middle of June, and some shmoe who bought his a week ago gets the update already??? Thanks. Another failure of Android.

Yep.. cannot get it to install on my phone.. I am about ready to sell my evo cancel my contract with sprint and move on..

Does anyone actually use that app??? I think I launched it once and never touched it again.

I use it during down time to get a quick fix of Letterman and Craig Ferguson, or to catch up on Daily Show / Colbert (they have the full eps of those)

I might have to check it out again after the update.

Really? If you're talking about the download file, that wasn't meant to be distributed and it isn't designed to work with all versions of the phone. If you're talking about not having the OTA update yet, Sprint has been way better about getting updates out over Verizon. A little patience goes a long way in this world.

Some people appreciate a carrier providing additional features and functionality at no extra charge. Now instead of having to steal or use betas of Swype, those who want it are getting it with support legitimately.

If there is something that approaches iFone fanboys level of sheer annoying noise, it's Android extremists who shriek "BLOAT!!!!!!" like their pets are being raped by the carriers, especially when Sprint are princes compared to Verizon slapping Bing on as the default on some handsets.

If you don't want anything other than barebones Android, then chill the hell out and wait for the chefs to cook up a custom ROM that spares you all those oppressive features. What's especially ridiculous about your tantrum is that you're rooted, yet you expect HTC and Sprint to not do anything to negatively impact the hacking you've chosen to do on your phone. Sheesh. That's like demanding an open heart surgeon not mess up your photorealistic tattoo of Justin Bieber on your chest.

other than swype, it's spam software. sprint was paid by nova and blockbuster to push there crap onto our phones. pass.

Nice that we have good enough DRM for Blockbuster now. What that means is... Netflix can't be far away! :)

I think blockbuster doesn't care as much about DRM considering they are far behind netflix and redbox. Getting on sprint phones a month or two early helps them out because people might decide to try blockbuster instead of wait longer for an app they haven't even tried yet. This was a good move for both Sprint and Blockbuster.

It might light a fire under netflix to get theirs out too.

+10 Agreed.

However, as an unrooted user, I would like the option to uninstall things like NASCAR, SprintTV etc. It's my phone, I paid for it, I would like to ability to remove certain things, if only for the extra space.

There aren't that many evos out there, its not the iPhone.

Maybe not, but the hundreds of thousands that Sprint has sold make it one of their best sellers and probably a large part of their customer base. What does this have to do with this discussion thread anyway?

As someone who works with movie studios, I know that Blockbuster has to care. Every reseller has to meet certain security requirements and takes some liability onto themselves for those being cracked. Blockbuster likely had to get that DRM in place before they could offer content. As for Netflix, I think they just focused on the other platforms and now see the Android user base as hitting a size of importance for them. I don't think they'll be too far out now.

The fact that its taking so long to get it (the update) out, that's what.

the update clearly has no particular order in which it rolls out, my launch day evo (0002) still hasnt seen the update and Im like a mental patient checking like every 1-2 minutes lol
