Excruciatingly slow browsing on WIFI but not 3G

Can anyone help, my Moto G is sooooooooo slow when i try to browse the internet in chrome or dolphin if i'm connected to any wifi.
when i search with google the initial results come up fast, but then when i click on the page if it is not already cached the blue bar will freeze for 10 seconds, load a little bit, then freeze again for another 10 seconds, then eventually load the page.
this doesn't happen at all on 3G.
i've done speed tests and they don't seem to be effected by the slow speed on wifi.
i've tried disabling wifi optimisation, location services, and battery saver, but nothing works.
does anyone have any ideas what i can do, it's driving me mad!!

Sounds like a problem with your router.

hmm, it seems to happen with all wifi networks thou.

The only other thing I can suggest would be to do a factory reset to the phone.
