Exporting video to HDTV via MHL HDMI adapter

I bought a MHL MicroUSB to HDMI adapter off Overstock.com, and tried the Watch app while connected to my TV. Nothing. Using the "Streaming Media Player" or Quickpic. I'm beginning to think, "Good thing I only bought it for $9, $20 wasted on an adapter would be aggravating."

Has anyone else got this to work? Is Watch the only app that should export video via the port?

What about connected media? Would that work. I have yet to try but I was actually going to buy an adabter as well.

I cant wait to buy a Samsung Bluray w/DLNA so I can try streaming over wifi.

Oh. I'm wearing my dummy hat. The adapter and HDMI output require a charging source connected to the adapter. Found that on someone's YouTube video review of a T-mobile adapter.

I found that even plugged into a USB port of my PC, my battery ran down to critical levels while doing a SKYPE call and HDMI mirroring.
