Facebook and GPS issues

I apologize if this is a repost. I've done extensive searching on this and found only limited results.

My girlfriend has a Droid 1. We had her first Droid replaced due to a bad proximity sensor.

The replacement worked fine for about a month or so. Now she is having issues.

First, the Facebook app won't load at all. Additionally, we tried loading it on the browser and that didn't work. That makes me think that it's a Facebook issue not a Droid issue. Is anyone else having this problem?

Second, the GPS doesn't work at all now. It can't find her location. It just keeps searching. I've read a few posts where an app may interfere with the GPS. Has anyone had this experience? Also, I've heard of the app GPS Test and the fact that it can potentially fix the problem. Could this be true?

I am willing to try anything to make her happy considering I have to deal with the complaints.

Her phone is all stock 2.2. I haven't rooted it or customized it in any way.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

Edit: Now I can't access my facebook. I have a Droid also.

Okay...I will go through your problem that problem you are facing with Droid 1. I will make research on the same problem and I will get back with proper solution on DROID 1.

What's on her notification bar when using an app that uses the GPS receiver? If it's blinking it's not an app, it's just the GPS receiver unable to obtain a fix. Try GPS Status. It includes a GPS reset feature which may help.

First get GPS Status, then you'll know if/when the gps is actually working. Then, you have about three different location buttons/selections to make for it to work like intended. One is in the browser settings, one is in the location settings, there's another...I don't recall where. If you search under gps and 3 or three, maybe earlier threads will pop.

And then, just leave it on. It doesn't use up the battery like it used to. Apps turn it on and off as needed.
