Facebook app for android phone won't open

Facebook app regularly updates on my mobile phone but the last time, a week ago, it refused to open afterwards. I have powered off/on, uninstalled/re-installed, cleared cache. It shows a blank screen and if I press return key, it glows but no action. Is it an app fault?

Welcome to Android Central! Quite a few Facebook and FB Messenger problems being discussed lately, so I would suspect a problem on their end. Try clearing the FB data as well as the cache in Settings>Apps. If you have Messenger installed as well, clear that cache and data too.

I'm having the same problem. Cleared data.cache, uninstalled and reinstalled latest app. Nada. When I try to start Facebbook the only error message is "Unfortunately, facebook has stopped". Seems to loop in that so if I don't hit "OK" right away, I have to tap it a large number of times.

Running 6.01 on a One Plus One. Cyanogen 13.0

Did you find a solution? I can't seem to find any relevant information on the Internet. It's just messenger not working for me.. All of a sudden.. Won't open at all. Just reads "Unfortunately messenger has stopped". I've cleared cache, data, uninstalled, and reinstalled.. No luck.. Any suggestions?

make sure the apps are installed to the internal hard drive not an sd card. that's what fixed mine

Hi, Try to uninstall and Reinstall and check the application and see
