Facebook for HTC Sense unable to log in

a disaster happened and I had to re-flash my 2.1 ruu this morning, so in rebuilding my phone I had to skip over syncing myfacebook account because facebook for htc sense says "service unavailable" everytime I try to sign in. So now I am unable to sync my phone contacts with my facebook contacts, which just looks silly. any suggestions????

same thing happened to me today after I did a factory restore. The Facebook for HTC Sense stopped working on my Evo. This is crazy

My Incredible has this problem too - I accidentally removed my Facebook account - and now when I try to sync my contacts it gives me connection errors

I was just about to post about this same issue. I removed my Facebook account intentionally hoping when I resynced it, my contact pictures would update. I've tried a multitude of different things with no luck. Hopefully this get's fixed soon.

I'm having the same issue. I keep getting the "The service is currently unavailable...." message. I don't log into FB, but I keep getting an email saying I just logged in using HTC Sense. What gives?

Well gentlemen this is going to be a waiting game this is a well know issue that google and facebook will not sync contacts. this is an issue fromthe mobile end of facebook. My guess is that it will be a few days till they find out what has caused this.
Hope this info helps, but this is across all phones.

Thank you for reading the story on the front page and being a smart *** about it.
You can at least get past the authentication part of the problem with that workaround. The problem still remains that even though the account connects, nothing actually synchronizes.

I did that and was able to get Facebook to sync, and it sort-of-ish works. It's synced the facebook profile picture to contact photo for me and to one other contact. Little by little I guess...
