Good day all! Having a huge issue with my facebook notifications. They will work once sometimes after a complete wipe and reinstall of the app and then stop working.

I have cleared the cache and data on the facebook app multiple times. I have Uninstalled and reinstalled the facebook app multiple times. Checked and rechecked all notification settings in android system and on the facebook app. Checked battery optimization. Background data. App sleep. Reset and wiped my phone multiple times. Everything I can check I have, multiple times. I'm at a loss on what to do.

Just to see if it's something with my actual account I made a new facebook account and it seems to be getting notifications OK. I don't feel like starting over and all though.

Current phone is a Samsung S22 ULTRA. But I also had a TCL 20 pro and an LG velvet that both had the exact same issue.

So couple devices having this issue, do you use any VPN, ad guards ,app cleaners , antivirus ?

I do not. Basically a fresh phone with no added extras other than a few apps I've installed. And to also note, I have tried to see if it will get FB notifications after a fresh wipe of the phone and instantly logging into FB without installing any other apps before hand. It always does the same thing, no matter the phone. Notifications one time. And then nothing else after

So can you long press Facebook icon then tap info>tap notifications is on? Then precede to notifications category are they on?

Another question do you use power save mode or DND (Do Not Disturb)?

Attached some screen shots of the app notification settings.

And battery optimization is turned off. As well as DND

Some of this could be the phone's firmware inappropriately killing apps in the background in an attempt to improve battery life (even if you've turned off every battery optimization option you can find). Samsung and TCL are notorious for this: https://dontkillmyapp.com/. TCL isn't listed on that site, but I can say this from my own experience with a TCL Tab 8. I'm not sure how aggressive LG's firmware is, though.

Another possibility is that it's just a problem with the Facebook app, which has long been known for being buggy. They often introduce new features or tweak others, and in the process can break some things. It's worth sending them feedback.

Also make sure the app is up to date , im using the s22u /pixel 6pro/Fold ³ and One plus and dont have this issue , contact Facebook also since its happening on multiple devices

I'm leaning towards it being something on facebooks end. Account is bugged on their server side or something possibly. I have a support case in now for a fee days. But no response on it yet

I have a support case in to facebook on it. I'm thinking it's an app issue. Or possibly my account is bugged on the server side

I appreciate all the replies and help!!

Yeah sounds like it , keep us posted what happens, your welcome!

In meantime can you get access and notification through chrome or different web browser on the phone? Possible download Facebook lite see if that version works with notification

I will give those a shot and see if it possibly resolves the issue! Thank you!

Tried something the last few days that works for a bit. Found a little page that recommended clearing the dns cache by flipping the phone to airplane mode for about 20 seconds. After turning it off I instantly get facebook notifications. Works for a few hours then goes back to no longer getting anything.

Have you tried those other suggestions?
