Android Central Question

Facebook videos keep either playing and flashing up with the thumbnail for the video or the video pauses every second the video is playing so I have to press play again it's only been happening for last couple days...

I have already cleared cache/data and didn't help at all

Help please

P.s I have the galaxy note 8

Hi everyone! I might have found a solution. On Samsung phones there is already a pre-existing FB account. So even if you deleted your app and download again the pre-existing is still there.
Under "Settings" go to "Accounts" then choose "Accounts" again, delete "Facebook"account. This should not delete your FB app. Go to Facebook and try playing video again. This worked for me. Good luck!

Thank you for sharing the tip and welcome as a new member. :)

I think I figured it out... add Facebook to "Unmonitored Apps" in the Device Maintenance> Battery. I just did a trial and it stopped the videos in FB from skipping.

I think it's because of the last update , there is definitely something wrong with it, and it's totally not fine from Facebook having these issues , and they should fix it with another update, guess it's the only solution.

Temporary fix:

1. Tap recent apps button
2. Tap facebook to return to video
3. Press play

For now this fix will work for individual videos from news feed and the suggested videos that autoplay after, but needs to be repeated for each individual video.

Good luck!

I'll be damned, you're right! Thanks.. this will have to do until those Apple loving turds spend more time on Android and put out a fix.

There is some sort of bug with this situation. Temp solution is to make that current video full screen, either vertical or horizontal and the reduces the pausing issue. Defently an issue with the latest FB patch that came out. It should be fixed soon!!! Hang tight.....

Hey, so I saw somewhere that someone just cleaned their screen and it worked. And so I cleaned my screen....and it worked....some of us may be having app issues, but some of us may just be super dirty fingers🤣🤣

I was having the same issues with videos pausing every 2 seconds on Facebook while on my Note 8. I fixed the problem by turning the video enhancement off. I went into settings>display>scrolled to the bottom and selected video enhancer listed under the "looking for something else" section.

I have the Galaxy S8 plus and this worked for me! Thanks

I'm having the same issue with the video's. I have a galaxy s8+. Last week i used an s4 and also the same problem. Everywere i am reading fixes like removing a proxy and changing app settings. Facebook has to fix his app nothing more. Why are we the ones who have to bypass issues on a broken app haha.

I fixed it on my galaxy s7. Open the Facebook App and Go to "Help and Settings": App Settings. Turn off " Videos In News Feed Start With Sound" and
"Sounds in App". Scroll to bottom and clear phones browsing data( cookies and cache from videos and links opened on facebook app). I think the last step is the most important bc I turned the 2 back on and videos no longer pause and start over on either wifi or 4G. Hope it helps.

I have the same issue. I had it with my s6 edge and then I went and got me a Note 8 and it's still the same. Videos freeze up, loading keeps going round and round and I have to hit play again and again until the voices start playing but the image is still frozen. It's the same with wifi AND mobile network. And I'm not using the battery saver option. I uninstalled the facebook app and reinstalled it and still the same. I wish the was a way to have them fix the problem. Maybe everyone here can leave a lower rating in the app complaining so they do something about it.

^ Yes. It may also be worth clearing cache, clearing data, force stopping, uninstalling, and then leaving it uninstalled permanently.

Thanks to all those who have joined as members in order to share tips. :)
