Fascinate MR2 (DL09) Waiting Lounge: Annnouncement Now on Verizon's Website

Agreed completely. I gave up a long time ago truly caring. My phone works, end of story.

Same here. No offense (because I'm an Android fan too), but this is what you get when you decide to go Android. It will be the same story for any Android phone. I haven't browsed the DroidX forum, but I'm sure they are calling for Gingerbread already.

Not to mention, we're about 2% of the 10 million Galaxy S users who even know what Froyo/Gingerbread, 2.2, 2.3, or whatever, is. Ask your friend/significant other if their Android phone has Froyo yet. They'll give you a funny look.

What is the point of rooting if there is not a 2.2 to root to?

because there alot of amazing roms out there..
2.2 isnt stepping into the Matrix, just adds a couple of features lol.
2.1 as it is could launch a rocket, literally.

So true, my first computer I built was 500 mhz and 512 mb of ram, lol my phone has more power. I am never happy with what I get when I see a new thing come out 2 weeks later like the nexus s. Now after CES I am still wanting more and more but that is life with computers.

Loli said can not did. I'm just saying , if you want to argue to say it sucks that you don't have the update its fine. But to say your phone is useless without it is an extreme

Umm... you don't "root to" anything. Rooting is akin to enabling the annoying "Allow" message in Vista when a program asks for administrative access.

I want to be able to use 2.2 updated apps, I honestly couldn't give a flying rabbit about flash. Flash on my friend's DINC takes a long time to load. That portion of the updates gets a big meh from me.

Honestly, my biggest grip with android are the lack of big applications, mainly a wall street journal app since it was actually released for the galaxy tab. Froyo continually getting pushed back doesn't even compare to my annoyance from WSJ and other apps that seem to get so much love on iOS and nothing from Android.

These things aside, I really really love my phone. I think it is the tits.

I'm glad I'm running DL09 and didn't bother reverting to stock for this update. It is annoying that we still don't have 2.2 even through Samsung and Verizion said by end of 2010. It probably doesn't matter that much but I'd still like to have Froyo on my phone. I'm guessing we will be waiting and get let down a few more times before it actually comes out.

I also do not care about waiting for 2.2 or not. I bought my phone as is.

That being said, my signal strength is hit or miss depending on, well anything. I will get 0% time without a signal while at home to sometimes 40%+ if at home, to which i then have to pull battery. Wife has Eris and 0% all the time. I just hope whatever/whenever comes out fixes the signal strength issue.

Neither Verizon nor Samsung ever said 2.2 would be "available in a couple weeks" either ay launch or since. If a rep in a store said that, take it up with the rep and that store.

Actually, on December 3rd @galaxySsupport (Samsung's twitter account for the Galaxy S series) said "2.2 will be available before the end of the year".

Absolutely. The Galaxy S has 2.2. That doesn't mean every device in the line will be updated within that timeframe

We won?t get no update the big thing right now is the Verizon iPhone.

While I agree we likely won't get FROYO today, you do realize that Verizon is made up of more than a handful of people right? They are more than capable to have a team working on the iPhone announcement tomorrow and also push software updates.

We will get Froyo, just not today.

Verizon doesn't want the bad pr or class action lawsuits anymore than Samsung does.
