Latest Verizon Fascinate Maintenance Upgrade Killed Your USB Mounting? | Android Phone Fans

you'll have to replace /dev/disk1 with whatever disk your phone is favoring on your mac... but I was able to repeat this twice -- its a bit maddening - I think the gist of it is that you catch the phone somewhere in the middle of a media sync.
Just throwing this out there for folks who know the phone better than i,
and can determine what the heck is going on. It doesnt look to me like its confusing the mac. I'm assuming (yep theres that word) that its the phone lagging at some point.
In the interim I've started using an ubuntu vm to mount the freaking thing - at least it reliable and I can grab content off my mac. (parallels)
aghh - phone turns 2 weeks old today -- and I'm starting to think about burping this whole deal, walking down to the apple store and drinking the kool-aid on an eyefone
A fix for this problem is posted at http://forum.androidcentral.com/verizon-fascinate/58277-fascinate-not-mounting.html and it worked great on my mac running 10.4.11
Just use the finder to locate terminal, and follow the post in the instructions.
My phone is rooted,
under settings/usb/ I have ask on connection checked and USB debugging is unchecked under settings/ applications/development
To mount to a Mac follow these steps:
First open Terminal, then type in "gpt show /dev/disk1" without the quotes. Plug in your phone, go through the steps to get to the point that you get Disk insertion error. Select "Ignore" then unmount the card then remount it. Then in the Terminal hit Enter to run the "gpt show /dev/disk1 command". You may have to run the command more than once. It should recognize your card at that point. Depending on your Mac setup the disk may be something other than /dev/disk1, so you may have to try possibly up to /dev/disk5.
Thanks for the info Cory. Now it makes my decision easier about updating from DL30 leak to EB01. USB mounting works great with DL30 leak and I kind of like the little android guy who is green until you mount the disk. Then he turns orange.
