Favorite apps broken by Lollipop upgrade

I reached out to Amazon support and they claim the functionality will be back in about a week. I am not keeping my hopes up, but anxious to have this working again.

At first it sounds like they reached out and broke it. After identifying your device as running lollipop they decided to cut it off. Or maybe there's a cache at their end which keeps that info and it didn't get updated right away, so that your downloads were still ok for a few hours until it did update. At any rate that's one good reason to hold off on lollipop until the apps catch up with it. Again, shame on all you developers out there for not having your apps ready for the new OS when you had plenty of time to prepare. Android is not alone in this. Apple devices have suffered the same thing with OS updates and there's no excuse for it.

I used to use Tasks to manage my Google Tasks but it won't install on Android 5.0.

I restored Tasks onto Lollipop using Titanium Backup. It worked fine. I uninstalled it, though, after migrating all the tasks I had to Google Keep, which now lets you share tasks with other users. :)

Read where MX Player is working on an update and should be out soon, can't wait since I use it a lot.

Till then, no working MX Player on Lollipop.

"We have already fixed the issues & released a new nightly build 1.7.32.nightly.20141114 with some more features. This new build is fully compatible with Android 5.0 aka Lollipop."

I thought about doing that, but I like my lists organized / categorized. Maybe if Keep gets folders or tags I will try it again for list purposes. For now I am using Business Tasks. I also use Business Calendar Pro, so the Tasks app integrates into it well.

Understood. Yeah, I agree that it would be nice to have tabs instead of (or in addition to) colours for organizing different types of notes in Keep.

Closeli app for viewing Simplicam video feed is broken. Also Swannview camera security video view app not showing live video feed. Mobiplayer dead as well. Ready to roll back at this point.

Chomp SMS pop up on the lock screen in conjunction with SwiftKey is bugged. When you click reply on the pop up the phone graphics wig out and forces a restart to stop it.

This does not happen (except one isolated event) when the stock keyboard is selected. I tried to use stock for a couple days and just can't deal with it. I currently just have lock screen pop up disabled in Chomp settings so I can use SwiftKey.

The only one I've seen is Jackpot Party Casino. As soon as I launch it, I get "Unfortunately, Jackpot Party has stopped."

Seems to be 5.0 related as several reviews indicate the issue has only popped up after Lollipop. Overall I've been happy to see how few things have broken with the update.

MX Player? Ouch! The thing I worry about most with these OS updates is broken apps, especially ones I use all the time. Anyone know about Amazon Music, ES File Explorer, Splashtop, Dish Anywhere, CNN, Aurora Browser, IMDB, Skype?

MX Player was just updated in the Play Store and now supports Lollipop.

I have the same problem with Textra.

I downloaded an update to the Amazon Music app today and I can now save music offline.

I've lost capital one, credit karma, weather channel, and Redbox. Just a few. Not too major.

Does anyone know of Splashtop Remote Desktop works with Lollipop? If that works then the only crucial app left that needs to work for me is Dish Anywhere.

Can't install Amazon App Store.

After downloading it, the install button does nothing, however,
the cancel button works perfectly, very interesting....

Installing from "Unknown Sources" is of course, enabled.

Anyone able to install Amazon App Store?

Same exact problem here, it happens with both SwiftKey and the stock keyboard for me. I had to disable the option in the meantime because it's so disruptive.
