[FINAL][ENDOFLIFE][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 8/25!

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3c - 7/

Question: I saw the new version (1.0.3c) up, and I'm curious...would all my current settings stick if I flash it over 1.0.3b (ex.: JoyLauncher "disabled" with iLauncher active), or would I have to do all that all over? Just wanted to make sure...

actually if the chin is not bend, another problem is possible accidental clicks when you phone is in your pocket, esp if a call is coming in and the phone is turned active

pocket friendly a not, its very quite personal... to me its slim enough to be pocket friendly... also its "narrower" than the iphone

Was it discontinued???

It SHOULD stick. Don't know why it wouldn't.. It did for me..

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3c - 7/

Turbo Boost to the top of the forums! :p

LOL!!! Anyway, I've been having some problems that seem to have gotten worse upon flashing the new version (1.0.3c). These are listed EXACTLY as I wrote them down in order to tell you about them whenever I could hop on the net. Here we go...
1.) It still has a bad habit of slowing down to a crawl or even freezing outright; this affects EVERYTHING, and overclocking the CPU seems to be absolutely useless to counter this. I thought the sweet cookie-like goodness of Gingerbread was supposed to be pretty zippy...so far, it's been anything but, and this current version seems even slower.

2.) "Application Not Responding" errors happen now. A LOT. With nearly everything, at that...and this is almost as often as the game Dream Heights would meet up with brutal FCs when I was running Cold As Ice.

3.) yesterday, 11:35am: Listening to music, started to play Zenonia 1; battery at 58%. THE PHONE SUDDENLY REBOOTS ITSELF FOR NO REASON. This takes forever to do, and once it's finished rebooting and the home screen is up (and complete, lol), the battery is mysteriously decimated to 19%. That's a HUGE drop...something I've only seen happen in worst-case reboots on BlackBerry phones (and I've had four different ones). The auto-reboot? I've only seen that happen on my BlackBerry Storm 2.

4.) yesterday, 4:38pm: Dream Heights won't even start. Attempts to report it cause Google Play FCs. After ten attempts, it finally worked, however...

5.) yesterday, 8:55pm: Zenonia 1 is now slowing down and temporarily freezing A LOT. If this keeps up, I'm switching to a different game...

6.) yesterday, 9:05pm: Zenonia 3 won't start, are you kidding me!? After five tries, it finally starts, but has a brief freeze the moment the game loads up and my character's onscreen. Screw this...let's try wiping the cache from recovery, again.

That didn't help at all, by the way. I can't fathom why it's running so slowly now or why overclocking isn't having any effect on it. Even the rotation sensor is hellishly slow to respond. Still, IT'S WORTH MAKING IPOD/IPHONE USERS HEADS EXPLODE IN SHEER CONFUSION!!! *maniacal evil laughter* Oh, and I figured out how to arrange the icons: there's an option within iLauncher called "arrange icons by name". This basically does it for you, and it arranges almost ALL the icons alphabetically by name, just as advertised...except there are a couple that didn't seem to fall into the right place. Dunno why that is, nor do I care...I'm just glad I got all four Zenonia games on the same page (and currently all on the same row).

And kudos to you for getting a decent iPhone-style boot animation!! Too bad you couldn't get rid of the secondary LG one (the one that looks like an escapee from Star Trek's transporter beam special effects), though. One more thing: also in iLauncher is an option to remove the shadows from the icons...DO IT. It actually looks a LOT cleaner this way. Well, that's it from me for now.

Can't stop now.. I am really in to this. Alright. I will be putting out a Nightly/Test build for certain testers later this week that fixes grammatical errors and spelling errors. Also, I got the errors fixed, but Phone Info crashes (which right now, this is good because there was a brick situation on my hands) and I will attempt to edit the XML and fix it. There are things that overlap each other and I have to go back and edit strings.xml to fix them but for the most part, I have fixed the just down-right-annoying-errors like AirplaneMode and USBTether.. I will be updating screenshots, updating bug reports, and others later this week...

....Rebooting all of the sudden? What the f**k? Try wiping boot, data (I know, but please), cache, system, and flashing this maybe twice. That might boggle it. I felt the same way. Tried to install beats using Beats Installer on the market while I was at camp, whenever I went to use the phone speaker, I got television like static so I went to wipe completely to remove DSP Manager Managified settings (caused DSP Manager to FC.. DO NOT USE BEATS INSTALLER) and rebooted to wipe and reflash.. Reflashed using COT and I got a boot hang at LG (I was still able to access recovery)... anywho's... I was doing something wrong because I flashed CM7 and kept it for 3 or 4 days, wiped then flashed Joylicious v1.0.3c and it booted fine.. That just scared me, but back to the topic shall we? :p

..............................

Current Bug List - NOTICE - Some bugs may affect some, and some may affect others. Keep in mind that I am still learning the gist of ROM developing and I may not know how to fix anything right away, but I am trying to learn. I promised to fix the grammatical errors didn't I? I did for the most part, some things need to be worked on..

In the NIGHTLY/TEST version I am producing -
check PMs this week...

COSMETIC ISSUES

- Text overlapping in Settings due to LOOOOONG text - (will edit the XMLs)
- Alarm PNGs - (will explain further down)
- Some grammatical errors remain - (still working on it; I needed a base to edit and I created one; be patient.)

SYSTEM ISSUES

- Phone Info Force Closes (CONFIRMED) - This is a good sign. With that menu force closing, there is absolutely no chance of bricking due to that wipe menu.

In v1.0.3d (the latest [stable] version) -

COSMETIC ISSUES
(working on these; cosmetic issues are easier to work on than system issues)

- Alarm PNGs (the sliders have a white background; IDK why)
- Chinese in the Alarm Clock.. - will attempt to translate the cities into English... be patient.
- Grammar errors like a squirrel on nuts in Settings - (See Nightly post above)
- Virgin Mobile Branding (in Logcat as well) - I am OCD and this is getting on my freaking nerves. I am sorry. I am trying to fix this as soon as possible. Will play with XML files and see if that helps.
- Chinese "CLEAR NOTIFICATION" button written in.. well.. Chinese.. - FOUND the PNG file.. I just have to edit it and test it for clearance.
SYSTEM ISSUES

- Spazmatic (Random) reboots for some - please wipe boot, cache, system twice and reflash. See if that helps for now. Check logcat (adb shell; su; logcat) to check sys. log.
- Slow system (why?) - See reboot and logcat operation above in the previous bullet.
- TB not allowing to install certain apps for some (doesn't affect me personally) - Try to download them from Market and restore data using TB..
- YouTube can't be reinstalled (app/data) using TB for some - I know it is a pain, but download from Play.
- *#*#INFO(4636)#*#* force closing in some of the options (why) - Will check with dev's
- Is there a brick warning messing with SIM Lock Settings? - While this is unconfirmed, DON'T MESS WITH IT.
- SuperSu has an update available; I just have to download the APK and Binary file from the SuperSu thread on the forums.
- Rotation Sensor is SLOW as my pet snail that is part Android (yes. I am serious :-P)... - I am working on it.

These are all of the bugs I can come up with.

Huh? How did that happen? The Clear Notification button was always in English for me.

Sent from a Purple LG-LS670 with CM9...the New Wolzard Phone...yes.

Yes I know. The Chinese button is not there for some, if you set the iPhone style settings, the CLEAR ENGLISH button would be at the bottom of notifications, most the time it is in chinese in the top right ABOVE notifications. The Chinese PNG files are there and I need to edit them to where there is 0% chance that the ROM's Notification Clear button DOESN'T appear in Chinese. If you pay attention to the ROM before applying ANY settings, 95.99% of the time, the clear button is in Chinese.

As I stated, I just have to edit the PNG files, a quick process that (like with the Sliders), I will have to test to be sure that I got the layouts correct. It took me 6 times before I ever got the correct layout and positions for those d**n sliders. That is why I am glad that I edited the PNG files for those and I will never have to edit those dead gum PNG files EVER again.

It will be a seamless process as far as the editing goes and the file coping goes.. I just have to figure the correct positions, layouts, and color styles of that Chinese button.

________________

Basic List of things to fix/work on:

Once I do the following things/get the ROM wiped clear of most of the CRAP:

- The Bricking Situation (SIM Settings and Privacy Wipe Menu(s) )
- Grammar and Overlapping Errors especially in Settings
- 99% Chinese GONE
- Fix the Alarm PNG files to match the background (they are on a WHITE background)
- Notification Button being Chinese SOMETIMES
- *#*#INFO(4636)#*#* Force Closing in some options
- Slider Toggle Animation in Alarm Clock (found the folder; need to edit the code?)
- Not a big one for me, but for some it is - Lock Sound - Will not affect what I am about to say
- Chinese in Alarm Clock
- Phone Icon in Status bar while in Call is NOT iPhone Style (DRIVES ME NUTS)
- Virgin Mobile Branding (I HATE THIS V, MOBILE BRANDING! UGH. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE BRING ME A STAPLES BUTTON? "That was easy!" :p) (can't find the files) if I can get it to cooperate!

,... then I will bump the release version to "Joylicious Optimus [Enhanced] v1.5.0" instead of continuing the v1.0.3d.. so on.. I have been moving when I put a new MAJOR update, I'll switch to v1.1. 1.2, etc. but If I fix these errors, the ROM will be near free of flaws. Then I will just boost it up to Enhanced v1.5.0..

Joylicious has a great future.

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 7/

The flash-twice idea worked wonders. Especially after I restored from my nand backup. Another thing that seemed to help when I looked in the app management was that I moved iLauncher back into the PHONE - it had been lounging around on my memory card and I hadn't even realized it. It's quite a bit zippier now, about on par with stock Froyo. (For ME personally, it still isn't as nimble as GB, probably because it still has all the other things that need to be done to it as of now. But GB for me wasn't that much faster in the first place, lol...ICS was actually about as fast as stock GB.)

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 7/

EVERYONE - Check your PM's in just a sec.. I am uploading v1.0.4b Test Build to MediaFire now.

Only certain members will be selected as testers.

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 7/

Will update the thread's screenshots and work on the ROM's Settings this week as soon as I can. As I stated earlier, I have camp this week and leave at 1 PM (CST) everyday so I have limited time to do it this week. Will work on it.

Thanks for being great Joylicious Users; I got my second point thing on my profile for receiving 90 thanks!

Sorry I haven't been around as much this week. :(

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 7/

Should be interesting to try out. Hopefully this runs a little faster than before, lol!!

EDIT: Before I try the new one out, here's a new problem I've started having within the last week: force closes. Lots of them. Apps that should start up automatically...trying to report "app not responding" errors...even iLauncher itself at times. Hoping the new update alleviates that, as wiping cache & dalvik haven't done a thing.

Edit 2: Running the newest version. It IS a little faster. "About Phone" crashes the Settings menu, just like it did with 1.0.3d. Loving the brighter background, may try one of the other iPhone style wallpapers to see if they turned out brighter as well.

Any chance this will work on the Optimus V using the patches to convert it to a VM rom? I mean the ZVJ to ZVD ones?

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 7/

I believe this is a port of a V rom. Made by Gannon, right?

Gannon did one, so did others, but this one was based on Torches work--but he is no longer developing for the Optimus V and the guy doing this continuation seems to be continuing to improve the rom further along than the original. That's why I'm interested.

Dang it. I thought I fixed that. One bug after the other. Try reflashing as last time. Wiping boot, cache, system, and if you need to.. data. Then flash again. Then flash again. Reboot... "Profit?" - Drew
