You can get apktool here - apktool

And a decent guide can be found here - [HOW TO] Use Apktool - xda-developers

Thanks.. 4 Thanks and 50 thanks on other posts and I still do not have 2 blocks on my profile..

My profile reports "PatrickAkridge shows promise".. Made me laugh so hard earlier...

I am still learning ROMs, but am NO WHERE near as good as thekraven or drew.. I have no idea on how to fix most of the problems, compile a kernal, or anything else.. I just kind of play around with the zip until I found out what I want to know.

Sorry for thread wandering, but where did you guys start from learning how to compile kernals and ROMs, how did you figure it out?

Whoops! I forgot to replace the link when I fixed the zip.

I had to change the files from m4r or whatever it was to mp3..

Here is the NEW link - iPhone_Ringtones-unsigned.zip

MediaFire hasn't suspended my account or anything; I use them because they are the best file sharing site.. They have strict TOS's..

Re: [STABLE][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port of JoyOS + CM7, v1.0.1 -

I will be starting Private Testing this week for v1.0.2..

I will be (trying) to change lots of things and will need testers. PM if you want to test.. Only need a couple of testers...

The ROM is not built yet, but when it is, I will need testers..

I haven't built a ROM but I built a couple custom kernels with PPPd support enabled a while back , But I started by compiling a standard Linux kernel with some custom selections back when I was exploring the linuxverse :) Once you learn to compile normal linux programs, you apply that to the normal linux kernels, suddenly you decide to compile a modified kernel-config for Android and so forth :D

On another note: I am sooo tempted to flash this ROM. If only to use it as a prank :3

Prank? ;)

It works!

Just use this line "Hey! Got the new iPod Touch!" cover up the Sprint stuff...

LOVE Joylicious Optimus.

PLEASE.. If you haven't already, hit that Thanks AND Like button to support further development of JoyOS for the LS670. No supporters (no Likes and Thanks), no ROMs... :p No.. Just kidding! ;)

This was exactly what I was meaning lol half the people I regularly hang out with are not computer or device savvy.

Just stick the Apple sticker on the back (for those who once owned an iPod touch) then cover up the LG logo and claim it's a new iPhone lol

Patrick you could try supersu as a workaround for superuser.

I saw that in the market..

Well FIRST, I would HAVE to ask dev's permission to use the supersu

...

I just thought that SuperSu was created AFTER superuser... thought it was like... a copy or mocking of SuperUser..

Thanks for the help...

Supersu is far better. Complete program from scratch. Chain fire is one of the top devs, and states you can include the free version in a ROM, check the thread in xda android development.

"Don't stop believing!" - Journey

SuperSu will be tested.. give me about 25 minutes to download the app, find the apk, and make a flashable zip..

A website reports that apps installed are in /data/app.. Trying to root browse there..

Is it dangerous to include apk's from /data/app? Does it show personal information (the apks)? Would they include personal info.?

Apks from data/ app are safe. They create another folder to store user data in data/data. Just make sure to put them in data/apps as few apps like to be in system, but not sure about supersu, might be worth testing there to save space.

Thanks!

Ka Boom!

I created the zip.. I installed SuperSu from Market, tryed to install binary.. Fail! Why? Because SuperUser Binary was installed and I didn't have SuperUser Installed, so I installed SuperUser, granted SuperSu permission, then Installed SuperSu's binary.. Then I uninstalled SuperUser, pulled SuperSu APK to my PC, then "SU" from system/xbin.. QUICK! I followed these paths from the thread and made a flash-able zip

I threw it in system/app.. It is not that big of a file...

Re: [STABLE][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port of JoyOS + CM7, v1.0.1 -

DONE! The ROOT problem has been fixed. I pulled SuperSu from data/app, SuperSu's binary from system/xbin, created the flash-able zip, flashed it, and now I have root permissions working again without having to install anything from the market..

According to this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1538053

We are allowed to put SuperSu in with our custom ROMs, so I will add it to 1.0.2 when I get IT built..

Woo Hoo! For those of you that are reading this post, download the zip here: http://www.mediafire.com/?6d5o4p0a9o9zi3h

Flash in Recovery (no need to wipe anything.. It does it for you)..

What it does is installs SuperSu to system/app, then installs SuperSu's binary to system/xbin...

That is all it does..

Re: [STABLE][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port of JoyOS, v1.0.1 -

there were none installed. the zip was the only Super User I tried

Why in the heck did it work for me then? I will REMOVE su binary and the APK and reflash and let you know how it goes..

What recovery are you using? I used COT to flash..

Re: [STABLE][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port of JoyOS, v1.0.1 -

Status Report:

Used ADB to run -
adb remount
adb shell
su
rm /system/xbin/su
cd /system/app
ls
rm /system/app/SuperSu.apk

So at this moment, the phone and ROM is NOT rooted. There is no su binary installed and there is no Root Management app installed.

Used adb reboot recovery to pull the phone into recovery..

Flashed the zip - SEE FIRST attachment

Then rebooted - SEE SECOND attachment..

Then I clicked OK...

I have no idea why it isn't working because I removed everything (the APK and the Su Binary from the phone) then rebooted it, flashed the zip and rebooted. It updated the binary and it worked....

Try running those commands and those steps and I will try to fix this..

I will hopefully be putting out 1.0.2 today..
