[FINAL][ENDOFLIFE][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, JoyOS, v1.0.3d - 8/25!

Re: [WORKS!][PORT][ROM][ZVD] Joylicious, Port/JoyOS, v1.0.3c - 7/

Ouch. Thanks for the warning about iLauncher Lite not allowing you to rearrange apps, lol. You may wanna make a note of that in the OP.

I have the CM7 gapps...youtube ain't in there. Neither is Gmail. And the one that's in the ROM's Email options isn't working for me...yet.

Sent from a Purple LG-LS670 with CM9...the New Wolzard Phone...yes.

Details please? If you mean your "ISP" isn't listed, click "Others" or something like that. When you setup Email, it is the LAST option in the screen. The setup screen looks like an iPhone. But right now, I've got to get it working.

When I try to sign in, it simply won't connect at all, despite the Wi-Fi connection being present. (Right now, Wi-Fi is the ONLY way I can get on the internet with my Optimus S.) It says "Unable to open connection to server"...

Another thing: Not sure if this happened to you or anyone else, but when it's specifically linked to the computer (USB mass storage mode ON), the Home button won't work AT ALL...aside from holding it to bring up a bar at the bottom of the screen with icons for Music, Browser, and Play Store. The Home button is perfectly FINE otherwise, so maybe it's just a fluke or something? And this in particular never happened when I was running CAI, so I have no idea what to make of it. (Just curious: did the original Optimus V version have this problem?)

AHHH! I got it to compile, but the JOYSettings remain unchanged! How can I remove menus, edit how things are spelled?

HOW? I tried editing strings.xml but it didn't work because it remained unchanged after I compiled. Developers, please help.

Here's what I did..

Decompiled JoySettings.apk (NO ERRORS)

Edited settings_about_phone.xml to possibly remove JoyUpdate and Factory Reset Menu

Edited strings.xml to fix TONS of spelling errors

Recompiled (NO ERRORS)

made the apk flashable

put it on sd, flashed the zip

reboot only to find squat fixed!

What am I doing wrong. All I need to learn how to do is edit how things are spelled, remove menus. That's it...

I even tried fixing permissions and it doesn't work!

Thanks for help in advance.

Which version of apktool did you use. The version I posted in the apktool confusion thread, you can NOT use a system apk that has been recompiled (the one in dist folder). Instead use the files in the build folder, open the apk with 7zip/winrar. Assuming you are only editing xmls, delete the dex file within the original and replace with the one from the build folder. Hope that helps!

I used the LATEST version. The apktool DID have a dist folder when I ran "apktool b path-to-folder" the folder on my desktop with the decompiled apk in it was named JOYSETTINGS2 I am on my phone so I can't say much :(

I will try your suggestion when I get a chance. Thanks! :)

Will be working on v1.0.3d NEXT Sunday or so. I am busy this week so, Android dev'ing will have to wait.

CAN FIX your first problem. First, wipe cache and dalvik cache from recovery. Then, reboot and navigate to Operators > Access Point Names in settings. Click on the FIRST FIRST FIRST dot until Sprint 3G comes up. You are the first person (to report) to have the problem since the latest updates. Then, there will be a APN called "USCC".. Tap menu key and select DELETE. Then if 3G disappears, tap the FIRST dot till it pops up again. This method does work. That's what they did for CAI.

As for HOME not working, try rebooting and/or wiping cache and dalvik cache. By the way, that "bar" at the bottom is the iOS style opened apps screen. This works kind of like a task manager. Hold one app, and the upper left of all of the icons turns to a red bar. Hit that bar and the app is FORCE CLOSED. Also, swipe left once then again for iOS style fun. To get the iOS style bar closing animation, TAP the screen (NOT BAR) instead of using the back key. Once you do it, it makes A LOT more sense. :) Back to your problem: it MIGHT be a fluke or bug (will try to replecate problem)... But yeah.. If settings don't stick or somethings seem odd, reboot the phone.. I had to do it when STATUS BAR settings didn't stick. I rebooted and they were already set and stuck.

Thanks for feedback and bug report.

To make me jump with joy, hit the thanks button. ;)

Hi guys, I just flashed this to give it a try, and it has been hanging on the apple logo for over ten minutes now. I know right after a first flash it takes a while to boot, but is this normal or should I try reflashing?

Thanks,

Erest

EDIT: Reflash worked nvm guys love the rom
